Today has been a pretty stressful political day, to put it mildly, so I hope seeing a thread with some of our Dems, who are fighting back and making noise daily helps you keep fighting too.
Rep Johnny Olszewski (MD-02)
Posted this great infographic with all of the ways DT lost in court this week. I wish we had a master list in the same format, but I’ll take a weekly list.
Rep Mike Levin (CA-49)
Has started a new series hearing from veterans saying why the new military military EO concerns them. This story is from Danny, a Vietnam vet. He has all the reason in the world to be terrified, to not want to use his face or his voice or his name, but he’s speaking out anyway. That’s what it means to have courage.

Rep Sydney Kamlager Dove (CA-37)
Has a new “Is This Sh*t Legal,” This episode is a bit different. It’s with Reps Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03) and Maxwell Frost (FL-10) all about their trip to El Salvador, with specifics of what they did and didn’t learn.
It frustrates me that this series doesn’t go viral, but it frustrates me even more that this video hasn’t because even with everything I know about their trip, even I learned things from this video.

Rep Seth Magaziner (RI-02)
Has today’s Democratic Daily Download and it is another episode about DT’s “big beautiful” destructive budget bill. There are so many posts about this because legislatively it’s the most important thing happening right now. Some could argue it’s the only thing actually happening.

Sen Elissa Slotkin (MI)
Has a new series, called “Slotkin’s Weekly Intel Briefing,” where every week she’s going to choose a handful of issues and do a pretty deep dive into them. In this first episode, she discussed the jobs market, the import taxes, broke down the reconciliation budget bill, so I now actually understand it, the importance of Medicaid even if you don’t use it and the Kilmar Abrego Garcia SCOTUS ruling. Whatever you think of her this is going to be an invaluable resource.

DNC and DCCC (Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee)
Are launching a new organizing program specifically to target 4 Republicans we could potentially flip to voting against the budget. This will include direct contact, digital campaigns, and local campaigns.

DNC Chair Ken Martin explained the launch saying:
To ensure these Republicans understand that it’s either their vote or their job, the DNC is launching its first-ever distributed organizing program to offer voters a platform to join Democrats in taking direct action — from hosting town halls to mobilizing their personal networks — against the GOP’s budget, while building grassroots power for critical elections still ahead. Our representatives must serve the people — not ignore them. Republicans will either learn that lesson now or at the ballot box
So if you are represented (or not, as the case may be) by Reps Tom Barrett (MI-07), Don Bacon (NE-02), Mike Lawler (NY-17) or Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) be on the lookout for how you can get involved, and make sure to follow The Blue Print to know more about this and all future organizing plans.
Rep Frost and Sen Chris Murphy (CT)
Are continuing their town hall tour. This time, they are going to Greg Steube’s FL-17 district in Sarasota. They will be there a week from tomorrow, Sat May 10. If you live in the area, and are free from 10 to 12 PM, sign up to attend and actually hear from two people who do you want you to feel represented.
And finally…
Sen Adam Schiff (CA)
Posted a great video talking about when he impeached a judge, way back in 2010, and why it is absolutely unacceptable for DT to tell Republicans to do so now based on literally nothing, except the fact that they don’t like the ruling.
So those are just some of today’s fighters!
If you made it to the end, comment 🪖( an army helmet) because we owe a lot to our veterans right now. And if you watched or read at least one of the links comment 🙅♀️(a person saying no) because we’re not gonna let those Republicans vote for the bill
Oh also, should I be including the Twitter links? I don’t ever use it unless I have to but, maybe other people feel differently.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
Please don’t post Twitter links. No one should be supporting that platform. Thank you for what you are doing. You are helping to keep me sane and hopeful!
Lots of great information in this one. That video from Slotkin (while she’s not my favorite given some of her votes) is very informative and well worth 8 minutes. I shared several of these posts on Bluesky under our Indivisible account.
