I spent most of the day on my election guide…
Election Day is Every Tuesday 4/6-4/12
With incredible Research from: Michelle Masters, Richard, Bee_thechange, and Michelle
because yes, there are elections next week, so I’m gonna try and do this as quickly as humanly possible. Let’s see how fast I can do it.
Here are some of today’s fighters !
Repping the Rep: Kathy Castor (FL-14)
Posted a video explaining the importance of SNAP for many in Tampa and America has a whole.
Rep Chris Deluzio (PA-17)
Has today’s Democratic Daily Download. A lot of people are pretty upset with this video. They want a really simple explanation, and with tariffs, there just isn’t one. So Deluzio explained why tariffs aren’t black and white and how they can be useful in certain situations, just absolutely not this one.
Yesterday, Suzan DelBene did simplify the conversation, which is really important too. But both types of content need to exist at once. Some people need the simplified version, and some people really need the more technical version, so they decided to post both, and I think that was a really brilliant decision. I just wish the commenters understood too.
Ken Martin
Has announced the first names in the Shadow Cabinet, or, as we are calling it, The People’s Cabinet:
Social Security: Former SSA Martin O’Malley
Labor: Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich, Biden Acting Labor Secretary Julie Su
National and Cyber Security: Former Cyber Security specialist at Homeland Security Hala Ayala
Impact on local communities: Former Wisconsin LT Mandela Barnes
Agriculture: Former North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp and Farmer and Highlander Political Strategies founder Will Westmoreland
More to come. But, to start with, make sure you are following all 7 on all platforms and looking out for their content to engage with and help spread!
MD Reps Sarah Elfreth (MD-03) and Jamie Raskin (MD-08)
Held virtual town hall and litigation update together yesterday. Anytime Raskin is talking, it’s worth listening.
Rep Melanie Stansbury (NM-01)
Made a post for Day of No Silence, which was previously called Day of Silence, but that concept as a protest for the queer community doesn’t really work right now. However, it sure felt like day of silence because I didn’t even know it was happening. So I’m so glad that Stansbury chose to post about it.
Sen Elissa Slotkin (MI)
Beautifully explains why the firing of General Timothy Haugh matters so much. It’s obviously scary, but if you want to understand it, she’s the perfect one to explain it.
Sen Adam Schiff (CA)
Posted about the 24-hour Vote-a-Rama happening on the reconciliation package in the Senate tonight. If all or some of those words didn’t make sense then this video is for you. He explains it all, one of the things he’s absolutely the best at.
I’m sorry this isn’t my best post. As I said, I was focused on elections, but hopefully you still learn something and see that our Dems are fighting back every single day. Especially tonight in the Senate, fighting tooth and nail against this reconciliation bill.
If you made it this far, comment 🗄️ cause we officially have one (a people’s cabinet, not a filing one)
Our voices are superpower, but ONLY when we use them.
