My Valentine is for Republicans:
Turn these cracks into chasms.
Love, The Dems.
Yes, it is another day where all three wins are showing that Republicans aren’t in such lockstep.
Roll Call, an incredible capitol paper, that if you’re not reading you should be, posted about a USAID hearing, a real one, called by the majority. But it didn’t go so great for them. Their goal was to vilify it, and instead, two of the Republican witnesses did the opposite. One of them being Rep Young Kim (CA-40)
Republicans are not remotely on the same page when it comes to the massive continuing resolution to fund the government, which the Dems are fully willing to shut down as leverage to get Musk out. DT’s lackeys want to cut social security and medicare, and Republicans in purple districts are saying that’s a red line. Some of them spoke to Politico, but one, Rep Rob Bresnahan (PA-08) posted it on Twitter, as a kind of very public threat to his colleagues.
All voting and two non-voting (Delegates from territories) Dem members of Congress (both House and Senate) wrote a letter to the Admin to reinstate Gwynne Wilcox on the National Labor Relations Board, which currently doesn’t have enough members to operate. But the letter was also signed by one Republican, Rep Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01).
Today was a rough day, it’s Friday, so of course it was. He seems to like doing the most damage on Friday, but, like every day, there were wins, so please focus on them when things get to be too much, or even before they get to be too much.
Your voice is your superpower, but only when you use it!

I remember from his first term 5PM ET on Fridays were literally the worst. Always the most damaging and infuriating actions. And it always soured my night and weekend. Definitely seems to be returning to that same rhythm now that we are past the insanity of the pile of EOs.
