It wasn’t supposed to be this late, but then, it’s Friday, DT’s favorite day to destroy the world.
Anyway, here are 3 wins!
Rümeysa Öztürk was released on bail! And the video of her release is one of the most adorable things ever.
Wyoming’s version of the SAVE Act hasn’t even gone into effect, but the lawsuits are already starting. The first, Equality State Policy Center v. Gray was filed today. The complaint states:
When HB 156 becomes effective, it will impose new, burdensome, and entirely unnecessary requirements that will make it harder for eligible citizens to vote. The result will be the exclusion and disenfranchisement of citizens.
the SAVE Act was never going to pass the US Senate, but a lot of states are trying to implement similar bills and many are succeeding, so it’s important for these lawsuits to be filed as quickly as possible, and to raise your voice if a similar bill is making it’s way through the legislature in your state.
Broadway show Dead Outlaws was scheduled to perform at the Library of Congress on Monday, then Dr. Carla Hayden was fired as Librarian of Congress.
Regretfully, the Broadway production of Dead Outlaw has decided to cancel Monday’s planned appearance at the Library of Congress upon learning of the termination of Dr. Carla Hayden, the Librarian of Congress. Dr. Hayden has been a fierce advocate for preserving America’s cultural memory and a great champion of the Broadway community
It’s always encouraging to see more people standing up and fighting back.
Today was hectic, but as always we had so many wins.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
Thank you!🙏🏼
It is so true...he doesn't wait til the evening for Friday night massacres. Typical done during the day. I recall when 18F was shuttered at 1 am on Saturday.
