I’m leaving for an event in less than half an hour so this is gonna be quick.
Obama appointee Judge Tanya Chutkan has ruled that EM can be sued for his role in DOGI. Judge Chutkan wrote in her opinion:
The Constitution does not permit the Executive to commandeer the entire appointments power by unilaterally creating a federal agency pursuant to Executive Order and insulating its principal officer from the Constitution as an ‘advisor’ in name only
Kansas State House Dems are starting their “Fight Back Tour” which will be across the state all summer long. There are 11 town halls scheduled so far with more to be added. They describe the tour as:
Through a series of town halls, Democratic legislators will visit communities across Kansas to discuss the real impacts of Republican-led policies, from attacks on public education and reproductive freedom to the erosion of voting rights and working-class protections.
This tour isn’t just about conversation, it’s about mobilization.
Together, we will strategize, organize, and take action to protect our democracy and advance a vision rooted in equity, opportunity, and justice for all Kansans.
University of Pittsburgh, Medical Center labor and delivery ward nurses have filed a request to unionize. One nurse said:
They want to say, ‘Nurses, this is your fault, and in order to make it better, time-manage better. We're not going to give you more staff, we're not going give you more [paid time-off] days so that your mental health can be better. This is something you have to figure out
Congrats to these nurses! Solidarity Forever, union strong!
So I hope you enjoyed these wins! I know there were some bigger ones but the whole point of this series is for you to hopefully learn about more than three wins a day!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
Amen, medical assistants, LPNs/LVNs. Nurses, and Nurse practitioners are the front lines in every medical setting.
I love all 3 of these! Thanks for sharing.
Hope the event went well!
