It’s Thursday, so it’s hell day, so this is gonna be quick and dirty, but that doesn’t make the wins really good!
Biden appointee Judge Myong Joun blocked DT’s executive order, shutting down the Department of Education and Ordered employees reinstated
Defendants do acknowledge, as they must, that the Department cannot be shut down without Congress’s approval, 2 yet they simultaneously claim that their legislative goals (obtaining Congressional approval to shut down the Department) are distinct from their administrative goals (improving efficiency). There is nothing in the record to support these contradictory positions. Not only is there no evidence that Defendants are pursuing a “legislative goal” or otherwise working with Congress to reach a resolution, but there is also no evidence that the RIF has actually made the Department more efficient
And it goes on like that from there. If you don’t want to read the order, you can read what CNN wrote about the order here.
Disney told The View to tone down their anti-DT rhetoric and they said not on your life.
One source familiar with the meeting characterized the hosts as telling their boss, “‘This is what our audience wants. Isn’t it gonna look kind of bad if we’re all of a sudden not talking about politics?’”
Ultimately, the women found the requests “silly” and that “they were just going to keep doing their thing.”
Given who is on this panel show, I highly doubt the language was that tame, but I don’t expect much anymore from The Daily Beast.
The Connecticut House has approved a bill that says if one or more states with at least 7m people also passed this bill, the bill would go into effect and stop publishing companies from overcharging libraries for e-books. Essentially, because the books aren’t physical, the publishers find ways to nickel and dime the libraries the longer they have the book, or the more checkouts it has. This bill would make that nickel and diming a lot harder. State Rep Matt Blumenthal, yes Sen Blumenthal’s son said:
These restrictions are wasting taxpayer dollars, and they are also interfering with our libraries’ general operations and ability to serve their patrons
Anything that can help the libraries is a win in my book!
So, I hope you enjoyed today’s wins!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
I love this!
Excellent! Thank you!!
