It’s always fun when the wins include something international, it gives me hope that one day we will get there too.
The Danish construction company, Tscherning had a fleet of Teslas, until this week, when they sent them all back. Not because they didn’t perform well, but exclusively because of EM.
At Tscherning, we not only decide how we drive – but also who we drive with. That’s why we’ve chosen to hand over the keys to our Tesla company cars – not because Tesla has become a bad car, but in light of Elon Musk’s political commitment and the opinions he has publicly expressed (and which are increasingly hard to overlook), we as a company have chosen to say “thank you for the ride.”
And if you scroll to the bottom of the article, they made a whole video returning the cars.
VFX employees at Marvel, Disney and Avatar have ratified their first labor contracts and are officially members of IATSE. Marvel Data Wrangler (what a cool job title), Cael Liakos-Gilbert told THR:
a much-needed win for the entire VFX industry. We’ve proven what is possible through determination and willpower, and don’t have to speculate or be shrouded in cynicism and doubt any longer. We’ve put ink to paper and given our people the contract we deserve.
Solidarity forever, union strong!
Denver’s Mayor, Mike Johnston has joined Chicago and Pima County AZ officials in suing the Admin. The lawsuit is about DT withholding funds they should have received from FEMA for housing immigrants for the last few years. Johnston said Denver got about a third of what they were owed before DT took over.
This is a great reminder that it’s not just our state AGs fighting back, cities and counties are too!
So those are some wins from today. Hope this helped remind you that there are wins every day, you just have to look for them!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
There actually was one major win. The SCOTUS told Trump he can't use the Alien Enemies Act to deport people since we're in no war, and to give due process. Of course we know who the two dissenters were since it was 7-2.
This victory got little attention, but staff of the General Accounting Office (GAO) resisted attempts by DOGE to install officials in their offices on May 16th. GAO is a Congressional agency, not an Executive Branch one, so DOGE doesn't belong there.
