Three Wins Today, May 14, 2025
Today is the first of many days I wish I lived in Canada. And you will too after win #3.
John Ewing Jr. was just elected as Omaha Nebraska Mayor. He is the first Black mayor of the city ever, and the first Dem mayor in a very long time! And this is a seat that in 2021 went for the incumbent Republican by over 30 points. R+30 is now a swing seat and that’s WILD.
Dr. Badar Khan Suri, a Georgetown University student who was abducted by ICE on March 17, has been released on bond and is headed back to his home in Virginia. May they ALL be released!
In one of his first moves as Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney has signed a symbolic order that directs parliment to make middle class tax cuts one of their first priorities:
I think I speak for all of us Americans when I say I could not be more jealous of Canada right now. But, one day, one day this will be our reality too, we just have to really fight for it and vote like every election gets us closer to that reality because, it does.
