Three Wins Today March 9, 2025

Some days I still start writing Feb, and by the time I get used to writing March, it will be April.

1. Former Democratic Rep Tom Malinowski will be holding a town hall in the Republican district represented by Tom Kean. This is who Malinowski ran against and lost to in 2022. If Republicans plan to continue hiding, then it’s up to the former Democrat to remind the district of what they’re missing.

2. Back in December, there was evidence that Russia had tampered in the Romanian presidential election, so the first round results, which had Calin Georgescu, the far right populous candidate winning were annulled. Candidates had to file for the new election this week, and, of course, Georgescu filed again, but, the Romanian electoral body rejected his attempt to run again. They haven’t officially given a reason, but I think we are all smart enough to figure it out. Nice to see another country saying no to fascism.

3. Lexington KY’s City Council was planning on getting rid of their equity inclusion and diversity office, until there was a huge backlash at the recent city council meeting and rallies outside.

   Thanks to outrage the current officer will be moved to another position in a different department but with most of the same responsibilities, and the “DEI” position will be left vacant for now and not abolished. This is the power of the people. Never underestimate it.
