Today was a pretty good day for wins. And it’s really important to spotlight them every single day.
Vance spent the weekend in Vermont, and the entire time he was there, Vermonters made it very clear how they felt about him. I will say, that includes those who were showing their support. It’s very important to remember that even Vermont has red dots, I mean, they have a Republican governor, after all.
Here is reporting from the Vermonters lining the only road back to the airport.
The American Bar Association has issued their second letter warning of efforts by the admin and their lawyers to undermine the courts. This letter raises the temperature compared to the first letter, and I have a feeling their first lawsuit, that accompanied the first letter, won't be the last. And the very well might end up going beyond lawsuits in the near future.
Here’s how the letter ends:
There are clear choices facing our profession. We can choose to remain silent and allow these acts to continue or we can stand for the rule of law and the values we hold dear. We call upon the entire profession, including lawyers who serve in elected positions, to speak out against intimidation. We acknowledge that there are risks to standing up and addressing these important issues. But if the ABA and lawyers do not speak, who will speak for the organized bar? Who will speak for the judiciary? Who will protect our system of justice? If we don’t speak now, when will we speak?
The American Bar Association has chosen to stand and speak. Now is the time for all of us to speak with one voice. We invite you to stand with us.
Wow.
Last March, a year ago, Huntington Beach voters approved a voter ID law.
The state immediately sued.
In September, Gov Gavin Newsom signed a law forbidding any locale in California to enact voter ID laws. This law went into affect in December.
Thursday, a state court of appeals ordered the Orange County judge to reopen that lawsuit from the state, which he dismissed .
Today, the judge reversed the dismissal, the case will continue
Well, that was confusing, I hope you kept up.
So as always, we have a lot of wins today, and yes, I did intentionally not include the big one, cause everyone already knows about it, but, if you want to shout it out in the comments, be my guest!
Or, you can mention others that flew under the radar that I didn’t mention.
Get ready for the big wins tomorrow of the 50501 protests across the country! If you don’t know where to go, just bring a sign to your local city hall, I promise, if you start alone, you won’t be alone for long!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
I assume it’s the Senate Dems blocking and defeating the bs and anti-trans bill that would have barred trans females from sports.
The Senate declined to forward a bill that would exclude transgender student athletes from playing on teams that align with their gender identity.👏
