It’s Thursday, which is my hell day, but in personal wins, that included a meeting with Elizabeth Warren’s staff.
Anyway, here are the wins for us all!
Alabama Repubican Governor Kay Ivey signs law banning “Glock switches“ which makes a semi-automatic firearm automatic firearms.
In her statement, she said:While there is a federal ban on these gun conversion devices, we needed a way to empower our own law enforcement here in Alabama to get these illegal and extremely dangerous Glock switches off our streets. I am proud to support law enforcement and work to combat crime by putting my signature on SB 116
Martin O’Malley the commissioner of the Social Security Administration under Biden, is headed to FL-06. This is the district Josh Weil is running in for the April 1 election, and this town hall will be all about social security. This is one of the districts known for their retirement communities, so this is the perfect district for a town hall like this. You can sign up to attend on Mobilize.
We might have a chance to flip a Minnesota State Senate seat. Republican, Justin Eichorn has resigned after he was arrested for soliciting a minor. The body would have certainly expelled him in the coming days, but it’s nice they don’t have to waste their time on that now.
He’s in a very red district, but we’ve flipped some seats this year already, so I wouldn’t count it out, and it would be nice to get some wiggle room with our Senate majority. So be on the lookout for Tim Walz to announce the date of that election. In the video below, the Republican Senate Minority leader, Mark Johnson, acts like a human and shows the appropriate amount of disdain and disgust, which is very nice to see, and unfortunately not a given.
So those are today’s wins. There were of course many more, so please share your favorites in the comments! And always be on the lookout for wins, they happen every single day.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
I love the idea of a Dem candidate, Weil, holding a town hall and bringing a subject matter expert, O’Malley, to explain what has changed since the beginning of the Trump regime and what’s their motivation. I’d like to see more of these. We don’t need to wait for a recess to hold them and engaging a person running for office is an excellent platform to showcase what she/he/they will do to fight for their constituents.
meeting with elizabeth warren's staff?!? tell us more!
