I hope everyone is feeling a bit better today. We still have a lot of fights ahead of us!
But for now, let’s focus on some wins, shall we?
South Dakota lawmakers voted unanimously to fully fund South Dakota Public Broadcasting. When Kristi Noem was still Gov, she was trying to cut their budget from $5m to just over $1m, which would have ended most of their reporting. Luckily, South Dakotans fought back, and made impassioned arguments to the legislators, and they didn’t lose a dime.

When we were presented the information on how public broadcasting serves South Dakota, it became very immediately apparent to all of us that we couldn’t make any cut, especially knowing that public broadcasting has been cut the last couple of years
Obama appointee judge James Boasberg has issued a temporary restraining order blocking DT’s attempt to revive the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 that was last used during Japanese Internment.

The vagueness and breadth of the expected Proclamation, along with the government’s haphazard process for accusing individuals of affiliation with Tren de Aragua, will undoubtedly result in fear and uncertainty about the Proclamation’s scope, and will chill immigrants in their day-to-day activities and the exercise of their basic constitutional rights.
Florida Democratic Party announced a statewide effort to hold town halls in Republican districts. The first one was tonight in Anna Paulina Luna‘s district with Whitney Fox who lost to her in November.
