I have a lot of exciting interviews coming up that you should be on the lookout for. My exciting things seem to never get views so this is your heads up, not that I can talk about any of them yet.
Actually…comment with who you’d like me to interview. I can’t get to everyone but I might be able to make some of them happen…
Okay, I’m done being vague. Here are three of today’s wins!
Today - SCOTUS has refused to take up the case of Kari MacRae who was fired from being a math teacher at a Massachusetts school for her online bigotry of various communities. Though they seemingly unanimously refused to take it up, Justice Thomas wrote a 9 page statement explaining why her posts were still freedom of speech. Very confusing, but still a win even with whatever Justice Thomas said.
Thurs June 26 - There was a large protest at the Wyoming State Capitol to protest against Mike Lee’s provision to sell off public land, and then two days later he removed the provision altogether. Lee represents Utah, but given that by Saturday he did remove the provision from the bill, I’d like to think that they had an impact.
Fri June 27 - North Carolina Governor, Josh Stein vetoed a bill that would have given executive power to the legislative branch. When vetoing the bill he said":
This bill would make it harder for the state to keep people’s drinking water clean from PFAS and other dangerous chemicals, their air free from toxic pollutants, and their health care facilities providing high quality care. It would impose red tape, including an unworkable unanimity requirement, that would hamstring the decision-making of agencies, boards, and commissions, making them less effective at protecting people’s health, safety, and welfare
So those are my wins for today. I hope you all sleep well and this evil bill has not passed the Senate by tomorrow.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
Awesome news! Love the public lands win!
Thank you! My husband who is from NC, always gets excited over NC good news and there has been a lot happening in that state lately (:
