My day feels like a total blur (not in a bad way) I can’t think of a single witty intro, sorry all.
Here are three of today’s wins!
Fri June 20 - Chris Kluwe, the former Minnesota Viking and current activist has started gathering his paperwork to run for California State Assembly District 72! With an official announcement likely coming in early July.
I’ve been speaking at a lot of the different Democratic clubs, at Chapman [University] too and a couple of other places. A constant at every single one of these has been people saying, ‘So, when are you going to run for office?’ They’re like, ‘We want to knock doors and raise money for you, when are you running for office?’ ... It feels like it would be wasteful not to take advantage of the fact that people are ready to go out and do something.”
So excited for his official announcement and I have high hopes for his campaign even though it’s a very very tough district.
Mon June 23 - Current Arkansas State Senator, Frank Love has announced he is running for Governor to hopefully replace Sarah Huckabee Sanders. He is the first Democrat to announce. In a statement, he said:
We can either stay on the path that sidelines our kids, weakens our schools, and silences our towns—or we can choose a future that values every student, every community, and every small business owner. I’m running for Governor because I believe Arkansas works best when it works for all of us.
Contest every single race, no matter how long the shot, though, given everything going on already this year, who knows what’s possible.
Today - The DLCC or Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, has announced an additional $400k investment into the Virginia State Legislative election. They also announced four new targets (spotlight candidates): May Nivar (HD-57), Leslie Mehta (HD-73), Lindsey Dougherty (HD-75), and Kacey Carnegie (HD-89). We are going to expand our majority in the House of Delegates and turn the exec branch blue!
So those are some of today’s wins, really drives home…
Your vote and your voice are your superpower, but only when you use them!
So glad to see Dems coming forward to run for state offices.
The witty or hopeful sentences for each win are GOOD ENUFF for today Ariella!
