I’m so glad TikTok is staying around, for a while longer, but not for the reason you think. I have over 308k followers, but my videos almost never get over 1k views anymore, so for my own content I no longer care less if TikTok lives or dies. However, it has the absolute best editing software around, and is the easiest to use for someone as tech clueless as me. You don’t see my video version of this series, but I do post them pretty much everywhere else….I should really start including them in these posts….comment if you’d like a video version at the beginning of every post?
Okay, pre-post chatter done, here are today’s wins!
Today - Remember on Monday when I said I had a personal win I couldn’t share? Well, now I can. Josh Weil has announced he is running to replace Ashley Moody as Florida’s Senator!
And, I got to interview him on Monday!
He is brilliant! And I was just kind of in awe of him the entire conversation. I think my favorite part is either the beginning, where he gets very in the weeds about how a campaign works, or his thoughts on Joni Ernst. But, you be the judge, what’s your favorite part of the interview?
And make sure to donate to his campaign if you can!
Today - The Los Angeles Press Club is suing LA County and Sheriff Robert Luna for the excessive force and non-lethal rounds used against reporters in LA the past few weeks.
I do want to say, as an Angeleno who voted for Robert Luna, though, he wasn’t my first choice, he is still heads and shoulders above our previous Sheriff, Alex Villanueva, one of the most corrupt and scandal-ridden elected officials in LA in a long time.
Anyway, here’s part of the lawsuit:
The protests against the Trump administration and its policies are ongoing and likely to continue for the foreseeable future. The LASD’s use of excessive force against journalists during the June 2025 protests has had a chilling effect on their ability to report on these protests. It repeats the conduct already enjoined by the federal court following the 2020 George Floyd protests and other events where the public gathered in public places to express their views about the government in general and the LASD actions in particular. Accordingly, unless this Court takes action to stop the wrongful actions of the LASD against journalists, Plaintiffs and members of the press will suffer irreparable harm.
YIKES!
Also, for those who aren’t Angelenos, just a friendly reminder, LA City is IN LA County, but Karen Bass is not in charge of the LA County Sheriff’s department, this is not about her at all.
I hope the Press Club wins, watching the way they were treated, as well as the protesters made me feel sick and it was completely uncalled for.
Today - Dr. Bronner posted against the ICE raids on all their socials
It’s not really news, but I feel like most people know about Ben and Jerry’s but not about Dr. Bronner, so I wanted to make sure everyone knows about the incredible work they do, and their products are great too. I know this kind of sounds like an ad, but it’s not, at least not yet, I would jump at the chance to work with them if they asked. I just smiled when I saw this post and immediately went to buy more body wash (almond scented) which I needed anyway, so I figured it would make you smile too.
So those are a small sample of today’s wins!
There were a lot of really big ones, but I love sticking with the ones you really might not know about, even if they are a bit more personal. I really hope you got something out of them!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
Love Dr Bronner!! Real American Values!
Did not realize this about Dr Bronner! Good to know
