Three Wins Today: June 13, 2025

I know things are getting scarier and scarier, but if we let this take us down, they win. And that’s the only way they win. They win when we stop fighting, when we let fear control us, so, here are three things that will hopefully help you live to fight from a place of hope another day!

1. Today - Zohran Mamdani and NYC Comproller Brad Lander are teaming up to make sure Andrew Cuomo doesn’t become the next Mayor of NYC. Because NYC has rank choice voting, they can work together. Mamdani is asking those who rank him first to rank Lander second, and Lander is asking those who rank him first to rank Mamdani second. They are showing that their values are aligned and they are both progressive choices.

   Plus their announcement video is absolutely adorable.

   Early voting started today, so, I hope you know what to do.

2. Back in March, St Johns Community Health in LA announced they were going to start doing home visits, cause so many of their patients are from the immigrant community and no longer felt comfortable coming in person. ABC 7 Eyewitness News did a piece on this decision on Wed June 11. I know it’s not totally a win from any time recently, but it is still happening and I just learned about it this week.

3. Today - Protesters showed up at Peter Theil’s Palantir offices in West Hollywood, California and held court in the lobby. This is another really creative protest location. 13 out of the 150 protesters were arrested.

So those are my three wins today. I know they aren’t as hyper local as usual, and you probably knew about two of them already, but most of the wins I saw today were getting a lot of attention, so these are the ones I got.
