Three Wins Today (Feb 7, 2025)
I’m so tired. I gotta stop doing this so late.
UC Student Association filed a lawsuit against Musk and his Freshman 15 to keep them from accessing the financial aid data in the DoE system. The Association president said:
Releasing student loan borrowers’ personal data is an incredible betrayal by our government, and we hope the courts will quickly hold the Department of Education accountable
Moral of the story, don’t mess with college students, and definitely don’t mess with their money.
North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs has won yet another case to keep her seat on the NCSC, which literally starts next week. Her opponent, who doesn’t even deserve to be named here lost yet another court case trying to throw out 60k votes. This is certainly the last election outstanding in NC, but it might be in the country too.
Judge Carl Nicols, a DT appointed judge, yes, really, issued a temporary restraining order against DT firing the 2000 USAID employees while the lawsuits from the federal employee unions go through the court system. Even his own appointed judges aren’t convinced he has the standing.
Even on a Friday, DT‘s favorite day to destroy the world, there is still good news. And that’s really important to remember. We can never let the bad in the world swallow up the good.
