Biden appointee Judge Angel Kelley rules that the NIH is permanently barred from limiting research funding.
Defendants and their officers, employees, servants, agents, appointees, and successors are hereby ENJOINED from taking any steps to implement, apply, or enforce Notice Number NOT-OD-25-068, issued by the Office of the Director of the National Institutes of Health on February 7, 2025, in any form with respect to institutions nationwide.
Well, that is certainly clear.
A new DT executive order forces states to get rid of DEI if they want to get federal funds for schools, and New York is the first to say not gonna happen. Daniel Morton-Bentley, counsel and deputy commissioner of the state Department of Education, wrote a letter to the admin, that many news organizations got access to, saying:
We understand that the current administration seeks to censor anything it deems ‘diversity, equity & inclusion, but there are no federal or State laws prohibiting the principles of DEI.
Estimates are at 5 million and counting on the number of protesters for Hands Off 🚫 today!!!

This has been pretty incredible week. It started with Cory Booker and it ended with 5m protesting across the country. Hopefully we have a lot more weeks like this.

I’m from St. Paul, MN, but my husband and I are visiting Portland, OR, so we joined the protest there. It was amazing!!! Huge turnout, with music, dancing, great signs, and lots of joyful resistance. The whole day was so inspiring!
I had a choice between 5 protests within a 15 minute drive here in SF's Bay Area. I chose what I thought would be the smallest - Ha! According to the organizers' email just now, there were at least 1,000 people with me at Alameda City Hall. Amazing!
