We have some pretty big wins today!
19 states have now joined the lawsuit against DT’s executive order meddling in elections. It begins:
The President’s constitutional role in elections is limited to competing in them and enforcing election laws enacted by Congress. Nonetheless, on March 25, 2025, Defendant President Donald J. Trump issued Executive Order No. 14248, entitled “Preserving and Case 1:25-cv-10810 Document 1 Filed 04/03/25 Page 1 of 42 2 Protecting the Integrity of American Elections” (“Elections EO”), to transform how federal elections are conducted throughout the Nation.
Maybe it’s not meant to read as snarky as I read it, but, given all our amazing Dem AG involved, I suspect it’s meant to be exactly that snarky.
The acting DoD Inspector General, Steven Stebbins, just issued a memorandum, letting Hegseth know he will begin investigating SignalGate and Hegseth himself, thanks to the joint bipartisan letter from Senate Arms Services Committee Chair Roger Wicker (MS) and Ranking member Jack Reed (RI). Here is a bit of Stebbin’s letter to Hegseth”
The objective of this evaluation is to determine the extent to which the Secretary of Defense and other DoD personnel complied with DoD policies and procedures for the use of a commercial messaging application for official business. Additionally, we will review compliance with classification and records retention requirements.
Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) introduced a bill to restore Congress’ constitutional role in tariffs. Grassley said:
For too long, Congress has delegated its clear authority to regulate interstate and foreign commerce to the executive branch. Building on my previous efforts as Finance Committee Chairman, I’m joining Senator Cantwell to introduce the bipartisan Trade Review Act of 2025 to reassert Congress’ constitutional role and ensure Congress has a voice in trade policy,
Many suspect this is a result of the very negative reaction Grassley got at his recent town hall.
And the best part of this series every day is knowing that this is only a very small selection of all the wins we had. If you’re feeling dejected or doomery, just remember, there are always always wins, and it’s important to seek them out, cause, sadly, they rarely go as viral as the doom.
Our voices are our superpower, but ONLY when we use them!
I actually have a win that's actually international in nature. In South Korea, the Constitutional Courts had decided that Yoon had to go for his stunt of declaring martial law. South Korean males by law have to train in the military after high school, so they know exactly how to fight back when they get out.
I love that Hegseth is getting investigated. And love the Grassley bill...that's actual movement people.
