I hope you know about today. I hope you know that at 6am this morning House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) and Sen Cory Booker (NJ) started a 12 hour sit in on the Capitol steps. I will go into far more detail in Daily Dems, where I will show just how many fighters joined, congressional and otherwise, but I hope like me, your energized and hopeful again. For me, this was even more magical than Booker’s 25 hour floor speech, because it included everyone, no rules, just stories. Okay, I’m getting too caught up in something I’ll be posting later.
Here are 3 other wins.
Kerry Kennedy is in El Salvador right now. She is there to learn about the crimes against humanity, against both El Salvadorans and Americans in the country. While her brother is destroying the world, she’s protecting it.
On April 24, Boisie Idaho Mayor Laura McLean made it clear that she doesn’t care if it’s illegal to fly a pride flag on a government building, she’s not taking down the one at city hall.
Take a minute to read the letter, if you can. It’s a good one.
Secretary Scott Bessent went to Yale, and on April 24, his fellow 1984 graduates wrote him a letter begging that he:
reconsider your part in facilitating the Trump administration’s intended transformation of our constitutional republic into an authoritarian state.
Another very powerful letter, well worth your time to read the whole thing, it’s not that long either.
So those are some of our wins from today.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
I was able to listen to my AFT union President Randi Weingarten this morning on Senator Booker's TT. Always an energizer hearing her speak.
Excellent, all 3. Thank you!!
