Please remember that I only post 3 wins. That means a don’t post most of the wins that happened in a day. I also choose very carefully, when I have the time to. I try to avoid posting the big ones, like Harvard yesterday, because everyone already knows about it. I want you to have more than three wins you might know about on a given day.
North Carolina Attorney General, Jeff Jackson, has reached a settlement with the landlord company Cortland Management LLC. I’ll let him tell you what decision was reached.
Today’s settlement means one less landlord is using RealPage’s unlawful AI software to charge North Carolinians unfair rents. We’re going to keep fighting this case to make sure all landlords and property managers play by the rules and people can afford rent.
There are still 5 companies he’s still suing, but this is a huge win for a future with fair rent.
In Idaho, a judge ruled that the strictest abortion ban in the country was, too strict. Abortions are now allowed not just if the pregnant person’s life is in imminent danger, but also if their life could be in danger in the future without one. It’s not good enough by any means, but it is a baby step in the right direction, and right now, those have to be celebrated, especially, in a state like Idaho. About the ruling OBGYN and plaintiff Emily Corrigan said:
Today’s ruling will help us preserve the health of some of our patients the way that we have been trained. But we will still be forced to turn people away, against our training as physicians. Abortion has long been part of the national standard of care offered to those with serious pregnancy complications, and it shouldn’t change just because of what state you are in. It is my duty to protect my patients and their health, and I will continue to advocate for all Idahoans seeking essential health care.
Even though it’s not a good enough win, I’m including it, because many lives will be saved and that matters.
Dems in the Texas House still have a little bit of power, and they are prepared to use it to get school vouchers on the ballot in November, instead of just voted on in the legislature. It takes 2/3 of the House to pass a constitutional amendment and Republicans lack that by 12 votes. The Dems plan to deny them the passage of every constitutional amendment if school vouchers don’t go to the voters. Love seeing Dems using all their leverage possible.
So those are some of today’s wins. I hope you now know about at least 6 wins from today, but I hope it’s even more.

Damn, between the grassley town hall and the judge’s ruling, Idaho wasn’t fucking around yesterday!
