Chag Sameach to all my fellow Jews! This is another holiday where we are reminded that we have the power to defeat a dictator, or, pharaoh in this case. Our plagues aren’t violent, killing cattle and the first born, but rather they are Cory Booker’s 25 hour floor speech, and the Dem AG filing lawsuits over literally every illegal move DT makes. They are 10 new Indivisible groups A WEEK, and the law firms that are standing up and fighting back. We have given them so many plagues and we will give them so many more,
Anyway, here are three of them today!
Bush appointee judge John Woodcock issued a temporary restraining order against USDA freezing funds for food Maine school children.
In ruling on the State’s request, the Court is not weighing in on the merits of the controversy about transgender athletes that forms the backdrop of the impasse between the State and the Federal Defendants. Verified Compl. ¶ 3 (“There is no need . . . for the Court to interpret Title IX here (at least not in this lawsuit)”). This lawsuit raises two primary questions, both narrow: (1) if the USDA wishes to withhold appropriated funds to a state, whether there are regulatory steps it must follow before doing so, and (2) in the instant case, whether the Federal Defendants complied with those procedures. The Court quickly resolved these questions in favor of the State. In fact, the Federal Defendants have not argued in this case that the relevant federal laws and regulations for terminating federal funding of state programs do not apply to this situation, nor do they claim that they complied with the applicable federal law in the events resulting in this litigation.
Basically, this has nothing to do with trans kids playing sports, you are just keeping food from school children, wtf. (maybe that’s not the exact summary, but, it’s not far off)
In Coeur d’Alene, Idaho the police department has recommended criminal charges against the Republican town hall security team who assaulted Teresa Borrenpohl at the event. And, again, I just have to shout out Coeur D’Alene Press for their amazing and thorough coverage of this entire situation.
As of Wed, the center-right CDU/CSU and the center-left SPD parties in Germany have formed a new government. This means the AfD, the far-right party, have effectively been shut out. This was expected, but, it’s nice to have confirmation.
I hope these wins helped make your day a bit better.
