😤 this describes how I feel right now.
If you wonder why people don’t know that Dems are doing the work. It’s because unless it is their own account it is impossible to find. It is 4:18 PM. I usually start making this at around 3 PM and it’s an hour later because of how much fucking research I had to do to still not find what I was looking for.
Google is garbage, but Ecosia only gives news from MSN, and shame on every fucking journalist who refuses to give these stories the attention they deserve. I am embarrassed and ashamed and just fucking depressed. I put so much effort into this and yet I can’t even find all the info I need to how is that OK?
So here are some of today’s fighters who deserve so much better than they’re getting.
Repping the Rep Bill Foster (IL-11)
Joined Hands Across Chicagoland last weekend along with Rep Robin Kelly (IL-02). If you didn’t know, there were protesters standing together for 30 miles. It was super successful. Rachel Maddow covered it, and pretty much no one else. It took me way too long to find any publication that mentioned rep Foster being there. So shout out to Chronicle Illinois!
In the post below, he’s the red tie first photo.
Rep Jason Crow (CO-06)
Has today’s Democratic Daily Download. He was at the Colorado freedom memorial reminding us what Memorial Day is actually about unlike you know, the president.

Sen Angus King (ME)
Interviewed a Maine Vietnam vet over Zoom for memorial Day. He talks about his experience in several wars and it’s one of those stories we won’t get to hear for much longer. The people who we are honoring for Memorial Day, can’t speak, but we should listen to those who still can.
Sen Martin Heinrich (NM)
Used Memorial Day to honor the Navajo code talkers, who don’t get nearly enough attention as they should.
And if you don’t know about them, I highly highly recommend learning about them. “Code Talker” by Joseph Bruchac is a great easy read and how I first learned about them.

Have a new Substack out. One thing I love is how they explain things. I just don’t understand. This post breaks down bond markets, treasury yields, and what Moody downgrading our credit rating actually means. Shout out to the amazing staffers who make this make sense.
Rep Glenn Ivey (MD-04)
Is in El Salvador as we speak and I hope to God you knew that before you read this. I am very scared of the prospect that that might not be true.
He is Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s representative, and he tried to see him a couple hours ago after jumping through all the necessary, hoops, and he was still denied.
This is an ongoing story, so make sure you’re following him on all platforms.

Reps Frederica Wilson (FL-24) and Shelia Cherfilus-McCormick (FL-20)
Visited the Broward ICE Center after a Haitian abductee died THREE WEEKS AGO! Why am I telling you the story now? Because today is when I found out about it. When Rep Wilson, thank God, posted a screenshot of South Florida Times article today.
And you can watch their press conference, from that day, below

And finally…
Rep Nikema Williams (GA-05)
Posted this lovely tribute to former Pep Charles Rangel, who was one of the founding members of the Congressional Black Caucus and he died today. There were a lot of wonderful tributes, so you should definitely check to see if you rep made one, but what she said is stuck with me throughout the day.

So those are just some of today’s fighters. I’m sure some of you are excited to find out that yes in fact I do swear quite a bit. I’ve just gotten used to the censorship of TikTok and don’t do it online much.
If you made us at the end of this post comment with 🇸🇻(the El Salvador flag) please don’t forget to continue to amplify Glenn Ivey’s trip as much as possible
And if you watched a video or read a post or even found other Democrats doing the work today and amplified those comment with 🤝(holding hands) because I wish more people and publications were talking about hands across Chicagoland, preferably not as a failure, which is how the local ABC station framed it repeatedly.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
Thank you for all you do to keep us in the know!!! I can always depend on you with the others that I follow, but your news on elections and info on news that’s not being reported is always appreciated!💕🩷💕
Thank you!! Listen, some days are just the shits. I feel you. But omg, what you pulled together even on a hellish day is amazing! Take heart and take care of yourself. Do something creative and fun. We all need to remember who we are down deep, when every day feels like another slog through quicksand made of bullshit. Breathe.
