I was sure that because it is Palm Sunday and the second night of Pesach I would be struggling to find fighters. Oh, how wrong I was.
Here are some of today’s fighters
Rep Sam Liccardo (CA-16)
Met with members of South Bay Queer Solidarity on Friday to hear about the trans experience and what kind of support they need right now and going forward.
I try to highlight electeds doing this kind of work, cause there’s this fear that Dems have decided to abandon queer Americans, and that’s just not true.
And here’s their post as well, cause it’s always nice to see both sides of the conversation.

Rep Rick Larsen (WA-02)
Visited the Everett Public Library and spoke with library director Abby Cooley. And she said it straight. DT wants to get rid of libraries because he wants to get rid of people‘s community and ability to learn.
She also broke down what the loss of funding will mean for her library and likely many others. Not many reps have amplified the EO gutting federal funding for libraries yet, so I’m thrilled to see Larsen doing so already.

Rep Lateefah Simon (CA-12)
Amplifies a Get Out The Vote rally happening today in Oakland for the election on Tuesday. The election is for mayor and for city Council District 2.
Elections happen every single week in various places across the country. Turnout is consistently low, but, if we had rallies like this everywhere there were elections, every week, I voter turnout would skyrocket.
Rep Maxine Dexter (OR-03)
Has my favorite post about her first hundred days in Congress. Today marks 100 days since Jan 3, when members of Congress were sworn in. I’ve seen my fair share of posts about this from various members of Congress, but hers stands out.
It’s not just about how many things she’s done, it’s about what they mean. It’s about the fact that she listened to her constituents when they asked her to do more. Dexter is one of the best examples of a representative, cause she works so hard to truly represent her district.
Sen Andy Kim (NJ)
Made a post sharing a story from one of his constituents about why her family relies on Medicaid. And I wouldn’t be including this except I have POTS, and to see a senator have a post that acknowledges the disease and uplift it as something is real and should be covered by Medicaid, matters. It matters more than those who don’t have invisible disabilities can probably comprehend.
Representation isn’t just about ethnicity or race or religion; it’s about seeing that aspects of your identity exist in other people and a reminder that you’re not alone and other people are fighting for your identity to be seen and valid too.
And finally…
Rep Becca Balint (VT)
Posted about how DT’s “anti-woke” agenda, which gets rid of anything that acknowledges the word “climate,” is going to hurt small family farms the most. She explains it so well, and I hope the ones who need to hear it most are listening. And if not, I trust she will keep saying it till they are.
So, those are just a handful of our fighters today. Even on a day when people are spending time with their families and celebrating and reflecting, our electeds still take the time to talk to us.
If you’re still here, comment 💯 cause our incredible Dems have been fighting for us for 100 days this session. Hopefully some portion of the next 100 will be a little easier.
Our voices are superpower, but only when we use them!
