Some days I just feel guilty because no matter how much I post I’m still missing so much and I know that because I’m not posting it, other people are missing it too.
I am happy to report, this is one of those days. I can’t cover everything there’s just too much.
Repping the Rep: Eric Sorensen (IL-17)
Did a Shredding Event like many other reps a few weeks ago, but he did an interview too, so we can learn a bit more about why so many members do them.
Shredding sensitive documents is one of the best ways to protect ourselves, and especially when our information is being sold to the highest bidder it helps to feel like we’re taking action against that.
Rep Haley Stevens (MI-11)
Has today’s Democratic Daily Download. It is of course about the Big Bad Corporation Budget Bill, and how it will affect her district in Michigan.
Just like it will hurt every other industry, it will also hurt the automotive industry, which is already struggling.

DNC ()
Have a today’s “DailyBlueprint and yet again, I learned a lot.
But instead of rewriting it, I’m just gonna link you to my original post.
This is probably how I’m gonna do it every day. It makes my life easier. I hope I don’t regret that decision and you actually click on the post and read it. Or just watch the news briefing, that works too.

Rep Alma Adams (NC-12)
Was in the House Agriculture interrogation of Secretary, Brooke Rollins today. She asked her about SNAP, and of course, her answer sucked. I wouldn’t have even known that this hearing happened without her IG post.
You can watch her question below
And the full hearing is below as well.

Rep Teresa Leger Fernandez (NM-03)
Was in a rules committee meeting yesterday where they pushed forward the PBS/NPR cuts to the house floor. I wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t for her video. We have to raise our voices because it will be voted on on the house floor this week!

Rep Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03)
Explained Rep LaMonica McIver’s (NJ-10) indictment, and why it should concern us all. She also explains what the actual point is because of course it’s not just about indicting sending Member Of Congress, the goal is to scare us into the submission, as is the goal with pretty much everything they do.
Good thing it won’t work.

Sen Rev Raphael Warnock (GA)
Has some really good news. Thanks to our protests and calling our Republican reps and just making a whole lotta noise, over 400 CDC staff have been rehired. Never think for a second we don’t have the power. We have all the power. And amazingly, Fox News broke the story.

And finally…
Senate Judiciary Committee
Held the "Cruel and Unamerican: The Abuse of Immigrants to Attack our Constitutional Order” People’s Hearing.
There were a lot of really amazing testimonies, but this one really stuck out.
And you can watch the entire hearing below.

And those are a very, very small sampling of today’s fighters. Again, it’s one of those days that I feel like I am doing you a disservice by not being able to cover more.
If you made it to the end of this post comment with 🚘 (car) because I haven’t even thought about how the auto industry will be affected until now
If you watched or read any of these stories, comment with what you learned and 🍪 (cookie) imagine it in Cookie Monster’s voice and let’s save PBS and NPR!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
I like the Daily Blue Print update on YouTube. Our state Party does a similar Daily Call To Action.

Hidden provisions in the 'Bigly Bad Bill'.
I'd like to bring this to everyone's attention to help get the word out.
(from Campaign Legal Center:)
https://campaignlegal.org/update/these-hidden-provisions-budget-bill-undermine-our-democracy
• The first policy — buried in Section 70302 of the legislation— would severely restrict federal courts’ authority to hold government officials in contempt if they violate judicial orders.
The House bill seems squarely focused on shielding the Trump administration from accountability when it breaks the law. Also, the new rule would be so broad that it could allow any government actor to escape being held accountable for violating court rulings and would also apply to court orders and injunctions issued before the law takes effect.
• The second provision — found within Section 43201(c) of the House reconciliation bill — would impose a 10-year ban on the enforcement of all state and local laws that regulate artificial intelligence, including rules for AI’s use in political campaigns and elections.
Currently, more than 20 states have already enacted laws to address election misinformation and manipulation made easy by new AI tools. These laws are meant to address real challenges for our democracy, like fake content that misleads voters about the candidates or issues on their ballot.
