Another day where everyone needs a break from the drama and the fear so I hope this helps bring the temperature down a bit because our Dems are doing amazing things and you should know about it!
Repping the Rep Ami Bera (CA-06)
Brought attention to this phenomenal Washington Post article about how completely and totally preventable this measles outbreak was.
Rep Gabe Amo (RI-01)
Has today’s Democratic Daily Download. He talks all about how the Big Ugly Law will affect his state of Rhode Island. He includes pecifics like the amount of money that the ultra wealthy will make from this horrific law in a year is the same amount that it costs to buy a nice house in Providence Rhode Island free and clear.

Rep Nanette Barragán (CA-44)
Wrote a letter with Reps Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-25) and Sylvia Garcia (TX-29), signed by 24 other Dems, to the FCC commissioner and acting bureau chief demanding that they include language accessibility in hurricane warnings and planning. If implemented, though I doubt it will be, it would save lives.
DNC ( )
Put up today’s Daily Blueprint at 10 AM. Today, Hannah spoke about six Republicans in purple districts who the DNC has been calling out on their socials since the bill passed. These include:
Don Bacon (NE-02), a clinic has already announced they’re closing in his district.
Derek Van Orden (WI-03), for celebrating the cuts and then taking down the post.
Troy Nehls (TX-22), for literally saying he doesn’t care about his constituents at all.
Tom Kean (NJ-07) and Young Kim (CA-40) just for their district makeup.
And the biggest hypocrite of all, Rob Bresnahan (PA-08) who has already sold his stock in one of the country’s largest Medicaid providers.
Bravo to the DNC for highlighting these low lives.
Rep Dan Goldman (NY-10)
Kicked off Disability Pride Month last week with Disability Unite and some local New York electeds. I wish we had a video of his speech, but alas, we will have to settle for these photos.

Rep Mark Pocan (WI-02)
Announced that he and Reps Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Jan Schakowsky (IL-09) will be re-introducing their “Save Medicare Act” which would stop private insurers from using the term Medicare to scam people into getting private insurance. They’ve been introducing the bill for several years and I will give you more info when it is officially announced. This is the bill from 2021
(MA-07)
Was instrumental in Boston’s decision to rename the Roxbury Library for Sarah-Ann Shaw, the first Black woman TV reporter in the city. The Library will now be called The Shaw Roxbury Branch Library at Nubian Square. I love highlighting when our Dems are fighting at a hyper-local level.
You can learn more about Shaw below.

And finally, on Wednesday…
Sen Sheldon Whitehouse (RI)
Will deliver his 300th “Time to Wake Up” climate warning speech, something he has been doing with immense regularity since April 18, 2012.

So those are just some of today’s fighters! I hope you enjoyed learning about what our Dems are doing.
If you made it to the end of this post comment 🌎 (earth) cause Whitehouse has been working to protect the planet for a really long time.
And if you watched or read any of these stories, comment with what you learned and 🌀 (hurricane) cause language access accessibility in emergency warnings is a must.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
