Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 101
I’m really excited to tell you about some of our fighters today because there’s a lot of creativity going on. And I promise you the chances are very high that you’re electeds were part of something creative today.
Let’s see who some of these creative fighters are!
Repping the Rep: Julia Brownley (CA-26)
Signed onto the discharge petition to bring “Hands Off Medicaid and SNAP Act” to the house floor for a vote. All we need is five Republicans to get it on the floor so if you have one now is the time to contact them.
Rep Maxine Waters (CA-43)
Announced yesterday as ranking member she was going to object to the joint hearing between House Finance Committee and House Agriculture Committee on crypto because of the corruption.
And that’s exactly what she did.
She objected, and then walked out. The Dems held their own people’s hearing with other people in crypto testifying. This was not some hissy fit like many, including Politico are framing it as, this was a calculated plan executed perfectly. It is completely creative and definitely not getting the attention it deserves by those screaming “Do Something.”

Rep Kelly Morrison (MN-03)
Spoke to Busy Baby founder Beth Benike about why small businesses should be exempt from DT’s temper tariffs. It makes so much sense, of course, small businesses can’t bring manufacturing back to the US, they’re too small. It’s literally in the name.

Rep Seth Moulton (MA-06)
Joined YouTuber Jake Broe in an interview released yesterday. This clip is about why Moulton believes Mike Waltz was reassigned. It’s not a fun lesson, but it is an important one.
In his opinion, Waltz is too competent for this administration

Sen Maria Cantwell (WA)
Has teamed up with PBS’ Rick Steves to sound the alarm about PBS and NPR, possibly losing their federal funding. Steves is based in Washington, so as strange a pairing as it sounds, it does, in some ways, make perfect sense. You can also read the local CBS affiliate KION article here.
Rep Lauren Underwood (IL-14)
Has begun investigating Kristi Noem’s taxpayer-funded trip to Springfield IL today. Where, there were so many protests against her that she literally only spoke for half an hour. And, that’s what the letters are. They are the first step in an investigation. And they have to be the first step.

Sen Dick Durbin (IL)
Is demanding a probe into the Justice Department executives, Kash Patel specifically, using government aircraft for personal use. Another creative way to fight back that begins with a letter.
