Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 14
I’m exhausted, it’s 10:43pm, but I couldn’t go to bed without at least giving a few Dems doing the work. I promise, tomorrow I’ll include some more of today’s fighters as well.
Sen Chris Murphy (CT)
He went on ABC’s This Week with Martha Raddatz, and the questions sound like something you’d hear coming from Fox News. Every single question is a gotcha, and she doesn’t react to his responses at all. It’s strange cause she has been a reputable center left journalist for many years.
That said, Sen Murphy didn’t let a single piece of mis or disinformation go by without countering it.
I think my favorite was when she talked about the lawsuits and said they are being followed, and he didn’t miss a beat before listing a handful of examples where he knows they’re not.
She tried every trick in the book to make him look bad and lost, but he completely held his own the entire time.
Rep Rob Menendez (NJ-08)
Rep Menendez put out an incredible thread detailing exactly what he personally is doing to protect and rebuild our democracy
I love how clear he is. He wants us to know exactly what is on his to do list, at least, of the things he can talk about publicly. If he is your Rep, please thank him. I want to see something similar from all Dem reps.
Sen Tim Kaine (VA)
Sen Kaine gave this week’s “Weekly Democratic Address” from the Senate. He uses the platform to discuss exactly what the Admin and Musk are doing and why it affects us all, no matter who we voted or didn’t vote for.
It’s clear and there’s no inside baseball, which is super important when trying to speak to the average American. I think this is a great thing to send to anyone you know who might be coming out of the MAGA fog. And maybe some of your friends who just understand why this moment is so dire too.
Plus, just in general, when I first started posting about this this afternoon the video had 359 views. We have to make this whole weekly series viral. That’s the only way it’s worth them doing at all.
I mean, it’s Superbowl Sunday, and there were STILL Dems doing the work.
I hope you feel as energized after the Superbowl as I do, and I hope these Dems doing the work help too.
