As always, we have some amazing fighters today, and im so excited that some of them are getting a lot more views than I expected.
Remember, it’s our job to amplify what our Dems are doing cause God knows the algorithm won’t.
Repping the Rep: Eric Sorensen (IL-17)
Stopped by Head Start at the beginning of the month and spoke with WGLT News about why Head Start being defunded would be such a travesty and ways that we can make sure it isn’t, especially by talking to Republican reps.
And this is why I do this segment of the series, Sorensen hasn’t posted this, so you wouldn’t know what happened if I wasn’t amplifying him every day this week. It’s an important reminder that just because we don’t necessarily see it, doesn’t mean most of our Dems aren’t doing the work, some of them just need a bit of work on that making noise part.
Rep Gil Cisneros (CA-31)
Has today’s Democratic Daily Download. DT is trying to distract us by sending the Marines and National Guard to LA. He knows his bill is unpopular and he knows that if all of our attention is on it, it will not pass.
Bonus that he hates immigrants and Los Angeles to boot.

Rep Maxine Dexter (OR-03)
Knows that when we hear “reconciliation bill “most of our eyes glaze over, so she did a full explainer video breaking down what is different with a reconciliation bill than a regular bill and why this budget bill is considered one.
This is her second explainer video like this the first one being all about markups. I really like these.

Put out today’s “Daily Blueprint.” This is the second day of the series, and today I learned about two things I didn’t know and I wouldn’t have found out until much later.
The Senate interrogated the NIH director. I would have found clips, but I never would have known where they were from.
Sen Amy Klobuchar and Rep Katherine Clark (MA-05) are hosting a People’s Hearing on Wednesday called “Big Betrayal of Women.“ And now I know about it in advance, and so do you.
So, if me as one of the more educated people, in terms of what’s going on in Congress, learned something, I’d say this series is a must watch for everyone.

Reps Chris Deluzio (PA-17), Pat Ryan (NY-18) and Ted Lieu (CA-36)
Launched the 18 member Democratic Veterans Caucus. Something that should be so easily bipartisan as protecting veterans isn’t anymore so I’m really glad that they are now taking veterans care into their own hands.

Rep (CA-49)
Represents the Marines base, Camp Pendleton, so, if you want to hear the Democratic perspective on DT deploying the Marines, he is who you want to hear it from.
He spoke during the CA delegation press conference today
But, he also broke it down in a separate video yesterday. I really like how yesterday’s video makes it feel like he’s talking directly to us.
He also posted a statement here on Substack.

Rep Becca Balint (VT)
Was one of the many speakers at Rep Pramila Jayapal’s (WA-087 “Kidnapped and Disappeared: Trump’s Lawless Third Country Disappearances” People’s Hearing last week, I previously posted Rep Jerry Nadler’s (NY-12) remarks. she talks about how the goal is to make all of us, fear for our lives and safety every single day.
You can watch the full People’s Hearing below.

And finally…
Rep Lou Correa (CA-46)
Wants his boring city back. He responded to ICE being in Santa Ana and how angry it makes him especially because he is one of the few Democratic members who did an unannounced oversight visit and got in just two days ago. Which was not his experience on Saturday at Roybal federal building in DTLA.

So those are some of today’s fighters.
If you made it to the end of this post comment,
🎽(tank) because they don’t have the other kind and we need to get them out of California.
And if you watched or read any of the post posts comment what you learned and ⚓️(anchor) cause that’s the closest thing I could find to Marines.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
🎽⚓️Great work. I hear so much whining about Dems. "What are they doing???" I'll send them to you and Jess Craven and Simon Rosenberg. We need to lift each other up.
🎽⚓️🪖🎖️ well done.
For a long time, we didn’t pay any attention to our representatives and they forgot how to communicate with us, other than election time.
But I think most of them do know their responsibilities and I hope we can find more examples of them fighting for us.
Thank you and thank them all for standing up fighting for all of us.
We will do our part too! 🚫👑
