Today is a day of trying new things. Our Dems are getting creative and some of it’s gonna work and some of it’s not, but we have to support their creativity and hopefully they’ll land on many things that really have a lasting impact
Here are some of them now!
Repping the Rep Jill Tokuda (HI-02) and Rep Teresa Leger Fernandez (NM-03)
Joined
for their “Know the Assignment” series.I’m really taken with the section where Rep Tokuda explains why she tries to put herself in bipartisan spaces. I know you don’t like the word, but I promise it’s not what you think.

Are in their third hour of a live AMA on IG, YouTube, and Facebook. Each Senator is answering questions for about 5-10 minutes and they are your questions, they’re reading the comments and answering those questions.
Is it perfect? No. Could we have had more advanced warning? Yes. But this is an incredible first attempt at something new and I hope they plan on doing many more of these.

Rep Mike Thompson (CA-04)
Has today’s Democratic Daily Download, and yes, it is mostly just information we already know about the Big Bad Billionaire Bill. But repetition isn’t a bad thing. We don’t always need to learn something new. Sometimes we need the repetition to really drive something home.
So yeah, you might know about it, but that doesn’t mean you’re losing something by hearing about it again.

Rep Emily Randall (WA-06)
Is the first queer Latina, Member Of Congress, and the first queer Member Of Congress from WA. She will be the Grand Marshall at the Seattle Pride Parade at the end of the month. And Seattle Times interviewed her about what it means to be a queer Member Of Congress right now.

(DNC)
Got creative. TACO (DT Always Chickens Out) is an acronym created by Financial Times columnist Robert Armstrong. And the DNC is running with it. They put a free taco truck outside the RNC HQ to really drive the point home. Did it work? Well, we are talking about it so I think that makes it a success.
We gotta let them try things sometimes the silliest things have the largest impact.
Sen Andy Kim (NJ)
Has now read through the entire 1k page Big Bad Billionaire House Bill and he has some thoughts. He shares three things that I had no idea were in the bill and you probably didn’t either.
I want to see a lot more of this. There are 1000 pages of this bill so every single day we could learn three new things and still not even scratch the surface.

And finally…
(OH-01)
Shares four reasons DT is the most corrupt president in US history. These are things a lot of of us I don’t think are paying all that much attention to because there’s just so much going on policy-wise, but we need to know these pieces too.
And, he also posted this here on Substack, so make sure to follow him so you get these kinds of posts directly to your inbox!

So those are just a small handful of today’s fighters. I’m so excited to see this kind of creativity and I hope we support it so that we keep seeing more of it.
