DAILY DEMS DOING THE WORK, MAKING NOISE, AND FIGHTING BACK Day 138
We have a lot to get to today, there are all sorts of things going on that you might not know about, but hopefully, you will after reading this post.
And heads up, this post is longer than an email allows, so, if you’re reading this in your inbox, click on the title and then you’ll read it on Substack itself and that won’t be a problem.
Here are some of today’s fighters!
Repping the Rep: Eric Sorenson (IL-17)
Interrogated John Phelan, the Secretary of the Navy over SS Harvey Milk being renamed.
You might not think this is the most important thing happening right now, but they are trying to silence. Our history and all of our struggles are interconnected.

DNC ( )
Release today’s “Daily Blueprint”
They included a really fantastic moment from Sen Tammy Duckworth (IL) on what the money for tomorrow’s parade should be spent on instead:
We learned that 21 Dem AG filed an amicus brief supporting the CA lawsuit against the National Guard deployment
And a People’s Town Hall for vets hosted by Rep Kelly Morrison (MN-03) and former VA secretary Denis McDonough ahead of tomorrow’s BS parade
And there was so much more, but those are the things I got out of it.
Rep Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10)
Posted his week in review, and I think this is a great explanation of what went down in Congress this week he discusses things like the parade, the deployment of the National Guard, the Big Tax Breaks for Corporations Bill, collective bargaining and more.

Rep Robin Kelly (IL-02)
Is sounding the alarm about PEPFAR cuts in the rescission bill, which is just another horrible bill, making its way through the legislature, but it’s different than the Tax Cuts for Corporations Bill.
I know it’s hard to focus on everything, but our Dems doing videos like this makes it a little easier.

Rep Rick Larsen (WA-02)
Explains what he did during this past “In-District Work Period” or as it’s more commonly known Recess. This is not a vacation. There are two parts of a representative’s job the part that takes place in Washington and the part that takes place in the district. And arguably the part that takes place in the district is far more immediate and visible.

Rep Norma Torres (CA-35)
Along with Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair Rep Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) wrote a letter to Pam Bondi today demanding an investigation into Reps Torres, Jimmy Gomez (CA-34), Lou Correa (CA-46), and Luz Rivas (CA-29) being tear gassed before attempting an unannounced ICE facility oversight tour on Saturday at Roybal Federal Building in DTLA. Torres is still dealing with symptoms.
As it happened, last Saturday, she posted this IG video:
Her first letter was sent three days ago to the head of the ICE department
And she did this interview four days ago:
Rep (NY-15)
Made a video reminding us how to talk about everything happening right now. Today I was in a briefing with Rep Lauren Underwood (IL-14) among others, and she said “When people see chaos, they don’t automatically assign blame” so it’s really important that every time we talk about the chaos and the destruction we assign blame to Republicans, which is exactly what Torres does in this video.

Rep (CA-49)
Posted a video of Patrick, an Air Force vet, talking about how clear the line is that DT is crossing with sending the Marines to LA.
Levin does a lot of of these and I really appreciate him giving his platform to his constituents like this so frequently.

And finally…
(MA)
Has an infographic on the big bad corporate tax cut bill (I know I’ve been calling it many different things in this post. If one has stuck with you, let me know.)
It’s really easy to just look at the first slide, but I implore you to go through the whole thing. And send it to people who might not be as on top of things as you.
So those are just some of today’s fighters. If you made it to the end of this post comment with 😢 (crying) cause I didn’t know about the tear gas so you might not have either
And if you watched or read any of these stories, comment what you learned and 🛩️ (plane) cause we have to listen to and support the vets they know more than any of us.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
