I totally woke up today so excited for @thedemocrats #DailyBlueprint and then I went to their YouTube page and there wasn’t a new episode and I was like are they not gonna be doing it every day?
It’s Sunday. It’s not Monday. It’s Sunday, which I forget consistently because I take Saturday off.
Anyway, here today’s fighters this Sunday, the beginning of my birth week!
Repping the Rep: Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07)
Is this week’s Rep. She has represented TX-07 since 2019. She is a lawyer. And at Ahmad, Zavitsanos, Anaipakos, Alavi & Mensing’s law firm, she was their first female partner
Today like many other members, she posted about the Iran bombing. I really like how she focused on how DT went behind Congress’s back and how dangerous that is for American diplomacy. There is no positive way to spin this, because of how it was done, and I appreciate that she didn’t try.

(NJ-08)
Has started a new Substack.
His first post is about Sofia a four-year-old girl who was going to get deported which would have on a live to her because her life-saving care is in the US, but with enough pressure from advocates and noise, they reversed the decision.
I’m really glad more and more of our elected officials are joining Substack. Having a long form in place that is not their newsletter or press releases is important.

Have started their substack as well. It’s important to remember that, even though in normal times you and I might not agree with everything they say, we’re not in normal times, and on the topics of Democracy and the budget, they are absolute rockstars. Their members are the best at explaining what’s going on in easy to understand ways. And if you’ve checked out their Podcast, “The Fly-In” you know exactly what I mean.
So, I can’t wait to see what they do with the longer written format!

Rep George Whitesides (CA-27)
Went to Adelanto ICE detention center when he learned that his constituent, Randal Isaías Bonilla Mejía had been kidnapped from his routine immigration check in. Of course he was not let in, but he was persistent and stayed there and while he didn’t get a tour, he did get to see and speak to Mejía.
I also want to be clear, this use of “bipartisan” isn’t for the left, it’s not saying Democrats need to compromise, it’s saying Republicans need to come to the table. It’s calling them out.
Rep Becca Balint (VT)
Interviewed former FTC commissioner Lina Khan last week. In this video, Balint asks as a former history teacher how will history look at this moment economically, and Khan gives a kind of hopeful answer. Not that this moment is hopeful but that it won’t be as hard as we think to get back to one that is.

Reps Mike Thompson (CA-04) and Nydia Vélazquez (NY-07)
Introduced the Police not ICE Act of 2025, a bill that would make it illegal for ICE and CBP officers to imply in any way that they are local police. These implications, have made it increasingly harder for police to do their job and protect immigrant communities in cases where police are helpful like domestic abuse, for instance. The relationships the local police have built with the immigrant communities can’t exist if immigrants are terrified of seeing a police officer.
And finally…
Sen Ron Wyden (OR)
Has taken Empty Chair Town Hall to a whole new level, it’s “Empty Chair Round Table“ and he’s not looking for Republican representatives to show up rather, The Administration, in this case, Dr. Oz.
I could not love this more. This is the perfect escalation. I want every elected to be inviting members of the admin to their round tables.
You can watch Wyden call out Dr. Oz during the Round Table in the video below.

So I hope you learned something and found some new fighters to amplify!
If you are reading this, comment 👮♀️(police officer) because ICE should not be impersonating them EVER!
And if you watched or read any of these stories, comment with what you learned, and 🟤 (brown circle, cause it kind of looks like a round table) and make sure to let your Dem electeds know what Wyden did and ask them to do it as well. It shouldn’t be hard, they’re already having the round table, just loudly and publicly invite a member of the admin.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
