I cannot properly articulate how hard our Dems are fighting back right now. This post is going to have a lot of examples, but I’m mostly gonna let them speak for themselves.
So let’s get started!
Yesterday there was a storm and flights were canceled, but that didn’t stop our Democrats from getting back to DC on time, something the Republicans didn’t try to do.
Rep Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08)
Drove all night from Illinois.
And did a Zoom town hall during the drive. And you can watch the entire thing below

Reps Chris Deluzio (PA-17) and Derek Tran (CA-45)
We’re both stranded in Pittsburgh. Tran I believe was on the second leg of his trip, while Deluzio’s flight was just canceled together. So they carpooled to DC yesterday.

DNC, DSCC, DCCC, DLCC, and DGA
Are launching “Organizing Summer” tonight. Here’s Ken explaining a little bit about it:
I forgot to press post when I made this post 3 hours ago, so this is now over. But it’s on YouTube and you can watch it anytime
House Dems
Did a press conference with over 100 members on the Capitol steps. There were speeches from the Ranking members on all committees involved in this betrayal bill: Frank Pallone (NJ-06)-Energy and Commerce, Richard Neal (MA-01)-Ways and Means, Brendan Boyle (PA-02)-Budget and Angie Craig (MN-02)-Agriculture as well as our caucus leaders: Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), Whip Katherine Clark (MA-05), and Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (CA-33). Since they weren’t under the House dome, they didn’t have to be quite so careful with their words and were able to call out the Republican targets by name.
Rep Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) helped Rep Jamie Raskin (MD-08)
With the honest preamble to the bill that he read on the House floor.
So, last night Republicans got sloppy and forgot to add a pretty crucial paragraph into the rules that wouldn’t allow for additional motions on the floor, which is pretty standard. Ranking member Jim McGovern (MA-02) figured it out last night at 2am but didn’t bring it up till this morning. As a result what was supposed to be a two vote process became a three vote process, and that first vote was literally the longest vote in the history of the House. As a result of this fuck up, 104 House Democrats were able to delay the start of that vote by coming up one by one and saying:
Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent to amend the rule to make and order the amendment at the desk that protects against any cuts to Medicaid and SNAP
Here are three of my favorites!
Repping the Rep Wesley Bell (MO-01)
Since I’m amplifying him all week.

Rep Janelle Bynum (OR-05)
Stared down the speaker when she asked for unanimous consent.
Before
Rep Alma Adams (NC-12)
Asked, McGovern (MA-02), got quite a nice dig in at committee chair, Virginia Foxx, one of many throughout the day.
I was sent this video directly by the House DPCC committee
Rep Joe Neguse (CO-02)
Did what Joe Neguse does best and called out the Republicans. He asked the speaker about the hypocritical nature of this 5-minute vote that has now been open for SIX HOURS, as of me making this post.
I was sent this video directly by the House DPCC committee
And finally…
Congressional Hispanic Caucus
Is one of many Democratic Caucuses that had a press conference today. In fact, I’m not sure there’s a House Democratic caucus that didn’t.
So those are just a very, very small handful of all of our incredible Democrats who fought today and are continuing to fight as we speak. We seriously have the best caucus, and I hope people figure that out very soon.
If you manage to get to the end of this post, comment 🚗 (a car) cause our Dems got to DC by any means necessary.
And if you watched or read any of the posts, comment what you learned and 📠 (fax,) cause there’s amazingly still time to contact Republicans and tell them to vote NO.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
🚗📠 Don't let the bastards get you down!!!
🚗📠 I sure like the preamble Rep. Raskin gave. And to be added to the record. ✅ The State of the People streamed all day on You Tube. They showed the Black Caucus when they took turns talking. It was mentioned we are a witness to what happened today. A lot of organizations to follow. Peace. Love Happiness
