Daily Dems Doing the Work Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 94
Today, like yesterday, was a very heavy coms day, that means lots of press, conferences and live streams. I have a feeling this is gonna become the new norm.
I hope you take some time to watch some of these videos and interact with this content, cause our Dems made so much noise today.
Congressional Hispanic Caucus
Held a presser about the abductions. There were speeches from Chair Rep Adriano Espillat (NY-13), Rep Norma Torres (CA-35), Rep Joaquin Castro (TX-20), and Ami Bera (CA-06)
There were a ton of episodes of the WTF Show today. When the series first started, they said it would only last for the first 100 days, but, we’ll find out if that’s actually the case soon. I hope they continue it.
Reps Jim Himes (CT-04) and Jamie Raskin (MD-08)
Discussed how they are conducting oversight over the FBI.
Reps Johnny Olszewski (MD-02) and Julie Johnson (TX-32)
Discussed DT’s first 100 days and everything that entails.
Reps Tim Kennedy (NY-26) and Andrea Salinas (OR-06)
Are on opposite sides of the country, but they are most important trading partner is Canada so they discussed how the import taxes are affecting their districts.
And lastly, of the WTF show,
Rep Lauren Underwood (IL-14)
Was interviewed by Call to Activism, all about how we best get involved. I believe this is the first one of their interviews that wasn’t two reps interviewing each other.
Senate Banking Dems
Staff director Jon Donenburg, wrote a Substack newsletter breaking down exactly what has happened to our economy. It’s short but incredibly informative. I wish they used other socials so they could promote these incredible articles.
Rep Chris Deluzio (PA-17)
Spoke in committee about how Republicans used to be the ones who were all about lower taxes. I kind of forgot about that to be honest. It’s been a long hundred days.
Also, I really wish when they posted these videos they said what they were. I know this is a committee but I have no idea if it’s a markup or hearing or even what committee it is. Hopefully one day, including that will be an automatic for all of them.

House and Senate Dems
Who weren’t in the middle of committee meetings, held a press conference on the steps of the capital all about the first hundred days. The best speech by far was from Sen Rev Raphael Warnock (GA). Sen Chuck Schumer (NY), Rep Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), Rep Katherine Clark (MA-05), Sen Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE) and Rep Pete Aguilar (CA-33) also spoke

as today’s Democratic Daily Download, which is a clip from his own event, a rally where he gave a speech all about the first hundred days and it’s one of those moments where you remember how good a speaker he really is, especially when he goes into the spoken word thing
And finally…
Rep Eric Swalwell (CA-14)
Ducked out of the Judiciary Committee meeting to let us know that all committee Republicans voted in favor of abducting American citizens. But he also said that were not in a dictatorship because of our power as citizens who fight back and the power of the courts.
So that’s just a small sample of today’s fighters.
