I had quite a lovely day off yesterday. It was very cool seeing all the stories you all found. Take some time to go through the comments of the posts yesterday if you need a boost!
Here are some of today’s fighters!
Repping the Rep Bill Foster (IL-11)
Posted about how many children in his district will be removed from SNAP a couple days ago. I think when you see a number this tangible, it has a bigger impact.

Rep Pat Ryan (NY-18)
Went on the Find Out Podcast three days ago and he was asked to explain the big bad billionaire bill and he called it a “shit sandwich” which I think is a great memorable way to describe it.
You can watch the whole podcast episode below!
Rep Lauren Underwood (IL-14)
Spoke about how dire this bill will be for healthcare as a whole. It doesn’t matter if you have Medicaid or not, all healthcare institutions rely on it to stay in business, even ones you wouldn’t think of.
And Rep Underwood knows this firsthand because she’s a registered nurse.

Rep Jake Auchincloss (MA-04)
Was on Fox News, which I love because Republicans aren’t going to hear the truth otherwise. He discussed how getting rid of science and technology grants and jobs it’s just giving all innovation to China on a silver platter. So much for America first.
Rep Jared Huffman (CA-02)
Raises the alarm about the Christian prayer at the Pentagon and why it’s not something we should be ignoring.
Rep Don Beyer (VA-08)
Explains another part of the “Big Bad Billionaire Bill” you might not have considered. Giving tax breaks to billionaires will take away tax credits for the middle and lower class. Especially those for appliances and the environment.

House Dems
Are going to “double down” on ICE visits following Rep LaMonica McIver (NJ-10) being charged. Combined Axios and The Bulwark have heard from every faction of the Democratic Party and they are all prepared to get arrested if that’s what happens. These visits are gonna start this week and it’s our job to amplify them.
Reps who directly spoke to one of these outlets include: Delia Ramirez (IL-03), Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) - As chair of the Hispanic Caucus, Greg Landsman (OH-01), Greg Casar (TX-35) - As chair of the Progressive Caucus, Joe Morelle (NY-25), Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Brad Schneider (IL-10) - As chair of the New Democrat Coalition, Juan Vargas (CA-50), and Rob Menendez (NJ-08) who was with Rep McIver on the visit. They also mentioned Yvette Clarke (NY-09) - As chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, speaking at the press conference last week
And finally…
Sen Tina Smith (MN)
Posted a beautiful, heartbreaking and horrifying thread on the fifth anniversary of George Floyd’s murder. A lot of electeds posted about this today, but I think hers exemplifies the work we have to do the best

And those are just a small handful of today’s fighters. remember there is never a day where are Democrats aren’t doing everything in their power to fight back.
If you made it to the end of this post comment with 🥪 (a shit sandwich)
And if you watched or read at least one of the links comment with ⛪️ (a church) which last I checked, the Pentagon wasn’t.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

The prayer at the Pentagon was a show of Christian Nationalism
🥪! I knocked on doors for Pat Ryan's special election in 2022. Knocking on doors for a special election turned out to be very rewarding, as most people I talked to said something like, "Wait, is that this weekend? I thought it was next weekend" or "Oh yeah, I remember hearing about that." I'd tell them it's right now, here's your polling place, you can literally just walk over there anytime including Sunday! I'm pretty sure I got Ryan like ten votes all by myself.
