As always, please remember to comment and amplify their posts as well as mine.
We are the media. It is our job to make sure our incredible Dems go viral.
Repping the Rep: Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10)
Is the first Rep in this new segment. Even though I lift up a bunch of Reps you might not know, I tend to highlight the same Reps (Sydney Kamlager Dove (CA-37, Mike Levin (CA-49), Robert Garcia (CA-42), Mark Pocan (WI-02) etc.) And that’s because they are really good at social media. But, there are a lot of reps who aren’t as good, or who are only good on one platform, and so, I just don’t highlight them.
213 Dems in the House voted against the CR, so we have significantly more fighters, and I want to highlight them as much as possible. From now through next Friday, he will be included in every Daily Dems post. And hopefully, by the end of the week, we’ll all know him and his fighting a bit better. Who knows maybe it will even convince his digital team to create a Threads and start using YouTube more frequently.
So, we’re starting with his Weekly Update. It’s different than everyone else’s, that I’ve seen. It’s not super polished, but that’s 100% part of its charm. He starts the video with thanking his staff, and then goes into what he did this week, in detail. It’s a great look behind the curtain, and almost makes me feel like I’m on facetime with my grandpa. There’s no fancy production (which I love as well) but this just feels…safe. Watch the update, and see how it makes you feel.
And, you can watch a FB video without an account. I just hope, after this week, you won’t have to.
Rep Jimmy Gomez (CA-34)
Was invited by the DNC to attend the Empty Chair Town Hall for Republicans, David Valadeo (CA-22) and Vince Fong (CA-20) to speak to his constituents cause they won’t. Those districts are in Kern County, and Gomez is in LA, but he showed up anyway. Ro Khanna (CA-17 will also be there Sunday for his “People over Billionaires” also sponsored by the DNC
Reps Maxine Waters (CA-43) , Sydney Kamlager Dove (CA-37) and Laura Friedman (CA-30)
Attended the March For Our Constitution.
As you can see, our former president was there! And I go to watch him live, cause I was there too.
I have immense respect for anyone who successfully films rallies, cause, I didn’t. You can’t even see Kamlager-Dove in my video, but, hopefully, you can hear her. At least her chant, anyway. “You can’t win if you don’t fight!”
Rep Kelly Morrison (MN-03)
Is an OBGYN, and posted a video with others in her field, amplifying the need for women’s healthcare in rural areas, which, unfortunately, is not remotely as available as it needs to be. It’s another one of those situations that if you haven’t been affected, you probably didn’t know about. I am so glad she is in Congress, so she can be a voice for women’s health.
Rep Mike Levin (CA-49)
Has started posting a verticle version of his “Constituent Stories” series! Before, it was on YouTube and reposted everywhere, but now there’s a verticle version that I hope will get more attention.
A lot of people really love Sen Patty Murray’s Federal Workers Testimonies, and it’s kind of like that.
Today’s story is from Joseph, who won’t be able to go to college without the Department of Education GEAR UP program, something you probably wouldn’t know about if you didn’t need to.
So, watch the video and learn yet another thing that the Dept of Ed did and hopefully will do again in the future.
Rep Pramila Jayapal (WA-07)
Helped host the first inaugural Resistance Lab. This is a series of trainings to help us resist, whether you are just an activist or have the time to be an organizer too. It was created with the Non-violent action lab at Harvard’s Kennedy School.
The next training will be virtual, so if you want to join, check out the Mobilize
GA Sens Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock
Both spoke at Ossoff’s 2026 campaign kickoff “Rally for our Republic.” They both completely brought the house down.
So don’t let anyone tell you that the Democrats aren’t doing the work. And remember, we need to celebrate the ones who are because positive reinforcement works and we need to remember that we’re not alone.
If you made it this far, Comment with ✊🏻 because we are fighting back and will continue to do so
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them
👊🏼
Love the stories about Housemembers! Would love to hear more stories about our Federal Senators going out to the community. I read the one about Ossoff and Warnock. Thank you!
