There’s some really big ones today, so I’m just going to get right into it.
Rep Gwen Moore (WI-04) and Rep Judy Chu (CA-28)
This is fabulous. Rep Moore and Rep Chu crashed a meeting between Speaker Johnson and Sec of Treasury. Meeting with Journalists outside Johnson’s office, they said he doesn’t seem to happy with what Musk is doing either.
He actually said he has the same questions himself and that this was his first meeting with the Treasury Secretary. but how could you be speaker of the House and know what’s going on when this huge thing is going on where millions of Americans private information is being stolen.
We need more of this!

Senate Dems
Senators can spend a maximum of 30 hours for “post-cloture” debate on certain nominees including Russell Vought. So, that’s exactly what Senate Dems are doing. They began at 2pm, and will continue yielding to each other until the time is up. So far, 35 Senators have signed up, or have already spoken, but hopefully, we will hear from all 47.
This probably won’t stop Vought from being confirmed, but it certainly slows it down, and if 4 Republicans were to find a backbone, this is the kind of thing that would make that happen.
I’m still not completely clear on how this works, but I do not believe this is a tactic they can use for every nominee. You can read more about it in the Senate rules on page 15.
You can also watch on C-SPAN, PBS or the Senate livestream.
Rep Mark Pocan (WI-02)
He has introduced the greatest named bill ever “Eliminate Looting of Our Nation by Mitigating Unethical State Kleptocracy (ELON MUSK) Act”
He said in the press release:
No one should have the ability to direct funds towards their personal interest if they are working for the federal government. That’s why we don’t allow Members of Congress or many other federal employees to receive federal contracts. The same is even more true with a special government employee with wide authority to direct federal expenses. No government employee, ‘Special’ or not, should have any financial interest in who the government does business with. Elon Musk is the poster child for this type of potential abuse. After more than $20 billion in federal contracts, there’s no way Musk can be objective in what he’s doing. Protecting the taxpayers has to be our number one priority.
Like most bills Dems introduce, it won’t be doing anywhere, but flooding the zone absolutely makes a difference!
Rep Al Green (TX-09)
Today he announced he is introducing Articles of Impeachment against DT for his press conference yesterday announcing his intention to ethnically cleanse Palestinians out of Gaza and the West Bank.
We do not have enough congressmembers for this to go anywhere, but it does waste time and shame the Republicans who want DT gone but are too scared to do anything about it.
I suspect this is the first of many Articles of Impeachment to come.
Also worth noting there were two rallies huge rallies. I know I usually break down exactly who spoke when, but, so much happened today, that I just don’t have the time. One was at Department of Labor just as M*sk and his hackers were trying to take over the office. Unfortunately I can’t find a single live stream that covered the entire thing. The other was at USAID again, this time it was 90 minutes with 22 elected speakers.
All things considered, today was a pretty good day, when it comes to fighting back. Sen Dems are starting to use their procedural power to slow things down and House Dems are starting to introduce hard hitting bills that just muck up the system. We’re getting there. Keep calling, keep the pressure, and, in the end, we will win!
