Just a reminder, the goal of this series is to spread the word about the DNC, and the Reps and Senators who are doing the work. So if you see a story or stories that resonate with you, please spread them on your own accounts.
We need more posts, not just my post going viral. Both are important.
Rep Mike Levin (CA-49)
He has started a new series on YouTube called “Constituent Stories.” This first episode is literally two minutes, so you have no excuse not to watch it and share it.
This video is from Andrew Schorr, a constituent who is only alive because of medical research.
It’s stories like this going viral that will change people’s hearts and minds. Personal stories always have more power than statistics. But that can only happen if we all share it.
I look forward to seeing this series unfold.
DNC Chair Ken Martin
Yesterday, I told you about Ken Martin’s tour of IL, TX, PA, WI and MO. A lot of people were really worried that this was just another example of the DNC holding events with big donors and ignoring constituents needs.
Well, I hope, the title of the tour helps alleviate those fears a bit.
The tour is called “Organizing Everywhere,” according to the DNC’s own post “What Democrats Did Today and Over the Long Weekend”
I can’t wait to hear more about what happened on this tour, and I hope they share updates with us throughout.
Rep Maxwell Frost (FL-10)
MoveOn held a Zoom last night, and Maxwell Frost was one of the speakers. At the end of his time, he made a promise. If you tag him in your Blue Sky post promoting a protest or event with an RSVP link, he would repost it on his account.
And he did that last night and a little bit today, but I don’t think that many people took him up on it. So if you have a protest or event coming up, and want him to repost it, I assume the opportunity is still available.
Sen Chris Van Hollen (MD)
He has a new page on his website to share how DT’s executive orders are affecting you and your family if you’re an MD resident.
If you want Democrats to “do something” they need to know as many of these stories as possible. So if you have been affected and you live in MD, please don’t ignore this one!
Sen Andy Kim (NJ)
North Jersey News posted a new interview with Sen Kim. It’s a great look into what he’s thinking personally, and what the Senate is thinking as a whole. It also going into detail about what happened behind the scenes, when the federal funding “freeze” was announced. For all the people who think nothing was happening, I think reading this article is especially important.
It’s also a great way for his constituents to know what they should be contacting him about. He explains his reasoning for different decisions, so you can absolutely use that to your advantage.
Sen Chris Murphy (CT)
And finally, our favorite Senator. He posted an Instagram video explaining why it is so alarming that the Admin is trying to drop all charges against Eric Adams. As always it’s clear, engaging and uses simple language. For some reason, this video in particular, reminds me of the videos NC AG Jeff Jackson did when he was in the House.
I hope to see all of these stories posted across social media by someone other than me or the elected! It’s our job to give them attention, even though so many people still don’t fully get that. But let me try one more time. If social media doesn’t like your political posts, and shadow bans you, why would it be any different for our elected officials?
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
