I hope this goes without saying, but please give some love to the posts that I’m highlighting themselves.
Give these electeds a follow on all socials you use. Comment on the posts themselves, and maybe even share them with your community.
The goal of this series is to elevate the Dem electeds and the work they’re doing.
So, without any further ado, let’s see that work!
House Equality Caucus
Posted a video with their leadership reminding queer people that we are valid and valued and they will be fighting for and with us every single step of the way. I’d also like to note that over 190 members of the House Dems are in the Equality Caucus, that’s almost the entire Dem Caucus.
So I hope this helps you feel less helpless and less like Dems will stop fighting for us.
This video includes: Reps Mark Takano (CA-39), Chris Pappas (NH-01), Mary Gay Scanlon (PA-05), Lizzzy Fletcher (TX-07), Sharice Davids (KS-03), Mark Pocan (WI-02), Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-25), Judy Chu (CA-28), Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Jamie Raskin (MD-08)
Rep Maggie Goodlander (NH-01)
Joined Chris Ryan on New Hampshire Today on WGIR, their Fox News Radio station. She talked about tariffs and how they will effect New Hamshireners, especially given how close to the border they are, and for being a Fox host, Ryan doesn’t seem so impressed with them either.
I love that she went on this show. We have to remember that the Republican news ecosystem is more than just Fox News prime time, and we need to be present in all of it. Especially the local programming.
The entire interview is about 16 minutes (though a lot of that is commercials)
CO Sens Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper and Rep Brittany Pettersen (CO-07)
Are holding “Protecting Federal Workers” a webinar for current, terminated or recently separated Colorado federal employees with a panel of federal employee rights experts.
They only have a limited amount of space, so even though it’s a webinar, please don’t sign up if you aren’t a Colorado federal employee. They do say on the signup form that it will be available for anyone to watch after the event so just wait for it to be uploaded.
I love that both senators are part of this, especially because Governor Jared Polis is still looking for common ground with the Admin.
Rep Dave Min (CA-45)
Made sure to very loudly condemn The Orange County Republican Party for not denouncing the Republican Club of Laguna Woods’ speaking event with one of the insurrectionists, specifically, one who assaulted a police officer:
Since Will O’Neill and Orange County Republicans refuse to comment on this shameful display, let me say what they won’t. It is disgusting and un-American to honor people who assault police officers and try to overthrow our government. Our country is built on the rule of law and democracy, and I will continue to stand up against the lawless mobs that are trying to tear these down.
Min is one of those electeds who makes sure to always focus on things happening in his district, and when they’re bad, instantly calling them out. I really admire that about him.
Sen Tammy Baldwin (WI)
Successfully got the Admin to resume paying Wisconsin Farmers who are part of the Dairy Business Innovation Initiative with no strings attached.
It started when she wrote a letter to the Secretary of Agriculture on Feb 26:
Many of the farmers and processors operate with limited resources and cannot afford disruptions in funding. Therefore, this unnecessary and ill-advised disruption could have widespread economic consequences, particularly, for small dairy operations in Wisconsin that drive our rural economies.
And this past Friday, the payments resumed.
I cannot stress enough, we have to stop deriding these letters. Maybe every single one won’t have an impact, but enough of them do that we have to lift them all up and support and praise the electeds sending them.
DNC Chair Ken Martin
Was on Jen Psaki’s podcast “The Blueprint.” The episode is called “Pissed Off With Ken Martin.” Unfortunately, it’s behind a paywall, for now, but Psaki just replied to someone saying it will be on YouTube soon!
Every day he gets a little more outwardly angry and a little more willing to break the rules and in the little bit of this interview we all do have access to, he doesn’t mince any words.
If you go to 2:19 from the end, you can hear this sneak peek. I can’t wait till the interview is up for all of us to see!
Rep Mark Pocan (WI-02)
Held a town hall in a town of 1k, at the very edge of his district this weekend. The town butts up to Republican Rep Derek Van Orden’s district, and naturally, he's in hiding.
I kind of love that Pocan hasn’t yet crossed the boundary into Van Orden’s district, but people came from all over anyway. He told Ayman that some came from over 2 hours away, to have their needs and fears addressed by an elected, even though he isn’t theirs.
I want to see Pocan go to every single town that butts up to Van Orden’s district. This can’t be the only one.
Sen Mark Kelly (AZ)
Went on a secret trip to Ukraine. It’s one thing to say you support Ukraine, it’s another to literally go there. It wasn’t for publicity, or a photo op, he just had to go to see what he can do and how he can help.
I might not love everything Mark Kelly does, but this deserves so much praise and attention, especially because EM considers him a traitor for this.
And that’s what I’ve got for you today. Thanks so much for reading and sharing and promoting these posts as much as possible.
There are still too many people all over social media still saying Democrats aren’t doing anything.
So let’s be as loud as possible, and prove them wrong!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
Thank you to all the Democrats listed in this recap/article today. GOOD on ALL of you!👏👏👏👏👏💙💙💙💙
