I know I’m a broken record, but if I highlight someone, and you like what they’re doing, give them a follow, comment on their posts, help me lift them up!
Here are some of today’s fighters!
Rep Nikki Budzinski (IL-13)
Wrote an op-ed for Fox News on the bird flu epidemic. And she did nothing to make it more palatable for their audience either:
Rather than responding with urgency and competence, the federal government’s actions have been inadequate. In recent weeks, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has made sweeping cuts to the federal workforce, dismissing key personnel tasked with public health and disease control.
There are probably people reading this article who actually didn’t know these facts. I know that’s hard to believe for us, but, we are far more educated than most. Federal workers and political junkies know, but that’s far less people than you might suspect.
I am so glad we’re seeing more and more Fox News op-eds from our Dems.
Rep Gabe Amo (RI-01)
Gave an update on his fight to get facts about Dr. Alawieh’s illegal deportation. He is the first Member Of Congress I have seen talk about this at all. Now that doesn’t mean he’s the first to speak on it, though, given he’s the rep from Rhode Island, he might be. I know Mahmoud Khalil is getting all the attention, but we can’t let any of these stories get lost. DT is just waiting for us to miss one.
Here’s some information if you didn’t know about this either.
Rep Sydney Kamlager Dove (CA-37)
Was on ABC News and spoke about the unity of the House Democrats and the disunity of the Senate Democrats.
I don’t know why she isn’t on everyone’s list of best communicators in the House.
Here is the full interview:
Rep Robert Garcia (CA-42)
Was on Alex Witt Reports yesterday, and announced that he will start holding town halls in Red districts in two weeks. He said he’s going to start in the districts around his own, but, also implied he’s going to be going outside of CA as well.
You can watch the full interview here.
Rep Chuy Garcia (IL-04)
Posted an infographic to help those with student loans navigate DT’s newest order.
I wasn’t gonna post this until I saw this comment:
And it’s true. When Biden was president, there was a huge focus on those with student loans, but since DT took office, it’s taken a huge backseat as a group that needs guidance and support.
Not everyone can focus on everything, but hopefully, other reps will see Chuy’s post and give their student loan borrowers some support too.
Rep Ayanna Pressley (MA-07)
Was on WGBH on March 10, but she just posted about it on Bluesky today. Which means, I only found out about it today. The interview is about 17 minutes, but the main focus is about how Congress must use the leverage they do have.
And finally,
Sen Chris Murphy (CT)
Was on Meet the Press, and I think it really goes to show how he changes his messaging based on his audience. He pulled no punches with us. He doesn’t try to sugarcoat anything or act like Republicans or Independents might be listening. It doesn’t need to be palatable to them.
But with Kristen Welker, he's much more cautious, because while we want to hear how angry he is about Schumer, that would undermine his message on a show like Meet the Press.
This is the full broadcast, but the video will open to the start of his interview.
I could have posted seven Dems who had in person town halls today, I even attended one. But I figured that could get a bit monotonous and you’d rather hear about other things.
Let me know if one day this week you do just want all the Daily Dem stories to be about the town halls that took place that day, cause I can provide that.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
Yes, love to hear about the town halls! Thanks!
I would love to know about all the town halls. Hoping to make it to McGovern's on Tuesday.
