I am starting this at 3:42 PM. I might’ve actually cracked the code on how to make this not take all day. Will report back.
Here are a small sample of today’s fighters!
Repping the Rep: Julia Brownely (CA-26)
Made a post for National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered, Indigenous Women and Girls. Not every elected acknowledged it, so it matters even more that she did.
Rep Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23)
Received a response from Secretary Noem to her letter asking to preserve temporary protective status for Venezuelans. The response was “given the current conditions of Venezuela,” absolutely not.
I am so glad that Wasserman Schultz is bringing this horrific reply to our attention, because without her posting it, we would’ve never seen it.

Rep Linda Sanchez (CA-38)
Also received a response to a letter she sent with The Ways and Means Committee Dems. It was to Acting Social Security Commissioner asking about the offices that were closed. And the liar literally says “reports that the agency is permanently closing local field offices are false“ I am so glad there’s a paper trail with this one.
Rep Sarah Jacobs (CA-51)
Read quotes from several letters she got about DT’s attempt to destroy Headstart. First off these letters are heartbreaking.
But secondly, this is an important reminder that the letters you send have an impact. Most activists say emails are a hit or miss, but it seems like in this age of new media, they are more important than ever. And I think some of these are even handwritten.

Sen Mark Warner (VA)
Brought attention to the fact that the DC budget bill still hasn’t passed the house even though DT and the police union have pressured them to pass it. so really Warner is just making the house. Republicans look incredibly small and pathetic, which is exactly how they should be talked about.

Sen Catherine Cortez Masto (NV)
Has a new episode of her podcast, “Three Things.” In this episode she chats with Sen Ben Ray Lujan (NM) about all sorts of things. The video is 17 minutes long, but this clip is about SNAP and why it’s so important to so many Americans, including farmers.
I wouldn’t have known about this if someone hadn’t mentioned me in the Threads comments. Which tells you how much is going on, because even I miss things. And this is the sixth week of this podcast.

Sens Chuck Schumer (NY), Amy Klobuchar (MN), Tina Smith (MN) and Ed Markey (MA)
Held a press conference with small business owners to discuss how DT’s temper tariffs will destroy their businesses.

And those are just some of our fighters today.
if you made it to the end of this post comment with a 📝 (note) because yes, the letters do make a difference, both the ones we write to our elected, and the ones they write to the admin.
And if you read or watched one or more of the links, comment with 👧(a child) cause Headstart is so important
Our voices are superpower, but only when we use them!
📝 👧🏻 Such a valuable Substack!
