It feel like it’s going so slowly, but also I’ve already done 90 days of this series? Wild.
I hope it’s helped you. Maybe you’re more engaged or just less panicked. Thanks for coming on this journey with me.
Here are today’s fighters!
Repping the Rep: Julia Brownley (CA-26)
Represents Ventura County, CA-26. And I can’t wait to introduce you to her this week! This week she attended a Hands Off Social Security protest at the Thousand Oaks office along with many of her constituents.
At least two other CA reps also attended Hands Off Social Security Protests in their district.
Rep Brad Sherman (CA-32)
Went to the protest at the office in Chatsworth

And
Rep Salud Carbajal (CA-24)
Attended the protest at the Santa Barbara office.
Rep Robin Kelly (IL-02)
Spoke at the empty chair, town hall in Mary Miller’s (IL-15) district hosted by the College Dems of Eastern Illinois University and Cole County Dems. We are hearing more and more stories of Democrats coming in and representing districts when their Republican rep refuses, I hope it just continues. If you’re Dem hasn’t started going to Republican districts, now’s a great time to call and ask why.

Reps Valerie Foushee (NC-04) and Maxwell Frost (FL-10)
Hosted a round table with local and international organizations that have been affected by the cuts to USAID. This topic hasn’t been getting a lot of attention recently, but it is one of those topics that if not solved will increase the global death rate by more than we can imagine.
I can’t stop thinking about how AIDS activist Peter Stanley said “We could see five million deaths in the next five years unless the spigots turn back on — fully, fast.” That’s a genocide and that’s just about PEPFAR, there are so many other programs that will kill as many, if not more. So I’m really glad that Reps like Foushee and Frost are continuing to listen to their stories and raise the alarm.
Also worth noting that this isn’t Frost’s district, let alone state, this is something else he managed to fit in when he went to NC to speak at the People’s Town Hall with NC Dem Chair, Anderson Clayton, and Senator Chris Murphy (CT) hosted by the DNC.

New Dem Coalition
Put out a fantastic video showing just how many times DT has changed his mind about his temper tariffs. This is a great video to send to anyone who might support the taxes or might not be paying attention. Even if you don’t fully understand, DT changing his mind this many times kind of speaks for itself.

Rep Mark Pocan (WI-02)
Released a new episode of his podcast “With Liberty and Justice for Some.” This episode is all about the NIH with Dr. Francis Collins, the former head of the organization.
One day I hope I can stop, including l these weekly series because everyone will just know they’re happening, but that day is not today.

Rep Ilhan Omar (MN-05)
Met with members of the Minnesota chapter of J Street , one of the leading progressive Jewish organizations, to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, a path to a lasting cease-fire and how there can be peace in the region once and for all.
She is making sure to keep the Jewish (and progressive Israeli) community in mind as she thinks about the future of the region, and that matters a lot.
Sen Mark Warner (VA)
Posted a great video making sure we remember everything that’s happened in the past almost 100 days. He’s making sure Hegseth and his incompetence stay in the news among many other things he reminds us of in the video.
I just want to say that he is becoming one of the fighters making the most noise in the Senate. He’s incredibly transparent and his videos are all really informative. He’s not someone you’d think would be doing that, so I just want to make sure you’re following him everywhere daily.

And finally….
Rep Maxine Dexter (OR-03)
Was on The Weekend, and she has found her place in Congress. “I’m a critical care doctor, my training is to respond when someone is sick, this democracy is sick.”
If you don’t know, Dexter yet, it’s time to start getting familiar with her. She is a name that will be pushing the envelope every single time she can. It’s amazing, before the joint address, she was planning on just wearing pink, but that week she had a town hall and her constituents told her to stand up and fight, and that night she was part of the first group to walk out and she’s being doing everything in her power ever since.

Those are just some of today’s fighters. I already have fighters on my list for tomorrow because I couldn’t include them all here.
If you made it to the end, comment👩🏻⚕️(a doctor with black hair because there’s none with gray) because Dexter is right, our democracy is sick and we need to do everything we can to heal it.
Our voices are superpower, but only when we use them!
Thank you for mentioning Warner. He has been working so hard for VA residents and he deserves the love for being on the streets and visiting towns.
Kaine was less visible this week as he went overseas and visited Ukrainian soldiers and stopped at memorials for Yom HaShoah (which as a Jewish constituent just feels nice).
And now I’ve rambled about my Senators 😂
🧑🏼⚕️A friend tried to tell me that Dems aren't doing anything. Ha! He got an earful.
