I am so excited for today’s fighters, because for the first time ever, they are mostly women. Usually it just so happens that I see more of the men’s post than the women’s but not today.
So let’s get started!
Repping the Rep: Kevin Mullin (CA-15)
Is holding a video town hall as of when this is being posted.

Rep Nikki Budzinski (IL-13)
Posted specifics of what cuts to Medicaid would mean in terms of what specifically people would no longer have access to. I think this is one of the best explanations I’ve heard for what will happen to those who rely on Medicaid (which probably isn’t called Medicaid in your state.) This is part of a larger effort by Democrats called “Save Our Hospitals Week“

Rep Dina Titus (NV-01)
Has today’s Democratic Daily Download, and it’s all about protecting our national parks, monuments, and public land. The main focus has been on the cuts to Medicaid and Social Security, but there is so much more in that bill and many other bills that are not getting as much attention.
So I’m so glad she’s bringing the spotlight back to this issue.

DNC ( )
Every day I learn so much from the “Democrat’s Daily Blueprint,” and today is no exception. In fact, host Hannah Muldavin touched on six different topics I was hearing for the first time.
According to The Hill
It’s still f’d up,” a GOP aide said of the Senate’s changes to the House-passed Medicaid provisions.
It’s not just VA doctors that can refuse to treat Dems and single veterans, the VA can refuse to hire Dem and single doctors. According to Sen Patty Murray’s (WA) press release:
Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), a senior member and former chair of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, released the following statement on new U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital guidelines from the Trump administration explicitly eliminating language requiring healthcare professionals to care for veterans regardless of their politics and marital status, and allowing doctors and other medical staff to be barred from working at VA hospitals based on their marital status, political party affiliation or union activity:
The Dem Vet Affairs Committee socials posted this thread:
DT and his kids have a new crypto mining venture
NV Sen Catherine Cortez Masto, the entire Nevada delegation, including Dems Sen Jacky Rosen, and Reps Dina Titus (NV-01), Susie Lee (NV-03) and Steven Horsford (NV-04) and the Republican Governor Joe Lombardo sent a letter to the secretary of labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer, to bring back the jobs corp program.
Sen Kirsten Gillibrand (NY) visited Saranac Lake, where she sounded the alarm specifically about how Medicaid cuts will affect rural hospitals
I love how many stories they covered today, and especially how many of them I really hadn’t heard yet. That means they’re focusing on things that aren’t getting enough attention too and that could not make me more excited.
Reps Mark Takano (CA-39) Linda Sanchez (CA-38), Sydney Kamlager Dove (CA-37), Luz Rivas, (CA-29) Judy Chu (CA-28)
Went to do an oversight visit at Adelanto and actually got in.
Based on this video and Rep Sánchez’s experience, the conditions are no better than when my mom went to the facility as a volunteer to visit with and provide emotional support for the immigrants during DT’s last term.

Sen Jon Ossoff (GA)
Opened the Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on funding for military housing with grave concerns about DT‘s budget proposal that will slash funding for oversight of privatized military housing.
Without this oversight, there will be noone to protect families from things like mold. If there’s no oversight, the companies have no reason to care, unfortunately.
I definitely didn’t know this was something being slashed so I’m really glad he brought it up.
Below is his full intro:

And finally…
Rep Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03)
Spoke about the proposed cuts to Planned Parenthood during last week’s “Big Betrayal of Women” People’s Hearing hosted by Rep Katherine Clark (MA-05) and Sen Amy Klobuchar (MN).
The entire hearing is worth a watch, because, this is all Dems, another one of those unofficial hearings. Take a few minutes to watch Ansari’s question, but also find a couple other questions to watch as well.

So those are just some of today’s fighters!
If you made it to the end comment with 👰♂️ (married genderqueer person) because that would definitely piss off the VA‘s hiring board
And if you watched or read any of these stories, with what you learned and 🦠 (germ) because people get sick when there is a lack of oversight in housing
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
