Hello, I’m exhausted and you’ll find out why in a minute, but I really hope this helps make it easier for you to amplify electeds who are doing the work, because that is the point of the series after all!Ariella Elm is a reader-supported publication.
And here's a piece of GOOD NEWS... Surely took Dems doing the work to get this over the line. Ohio Bill 15 cut off taxpayer subsidies to coal plants! BIPARTISAN IN A RED STATE. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1GArixMa22/
Ken (dem chair) should have said Medicaid instead of Medicare….but it’s likely our whole health care system will be screwed again by this big bad billionaire bill…with kicking people off snap and Medicaid - uninsured costs go up nationally and privately insured premiums will go up for everyone else. T cut the ACA supplemental payments and the worsening deficit will likely trigger kicking in cuts for Medicare too…I work in health care and this bill is a total disaster…they are planning to crush the American health care system and take ACA down too…this has always been their plan. Medicaid allows people to move forward/or stabilize somewhat in life with health insurance for millions of low income families and so many elderly. You will see nursing homes & rural hospitals closing most likely first. The back up will affect the overall hospital systems as well - later affecting those with insurance having trouble getting care. It will cause more private practices to close down. I can only hope the Senate makes significant changes, trying to hold out a little hope for our reps but it’s dim.
Actually….it’s both, we’ve only been talking about Medicaid, but it’s both. You can hear more about that in my interview with Mike Levin cause he talks about it as well.
😶🌫️💵 One of the people extremely like to die from lack of medication if Medicaid is cut back, is a dear friend of mine. ICE has been abducting and terrorizing people in the small city where I live.
On a very related note, the following substack from "your weirdo friend" both makes the case for active non-violent resistance, and ends with a link to a very helpful short book on best practises for civic resistance. It's a pdf, no purchase necessary. https://muppetgender.substack.com/p/people-suggesting-violence-is-inevitable
