Please remember to go to the posts themselves and interact with them on the elected’s account. I really love and appreciate the support, but the whole point of this series is to give that support to our Dems themselves.
Here we go!
Repping the Rep: Eleanor Holmes Norton (DC Del.)
Posted about the two-month anniversary of the “DC Local Funds Act” passing the Senate, on May 14. Because it is still sitting in the house and the longer it’s not passed the more of a problem it becomes.
Rep Raul Ruiz (CA-25)
Gave updates about the Palm Springs IVF clinic bombing. I really appreciate how he put so much emphasis on the first responders, especially when it’s a little up in the air if this will be taken as seriously as it should by the federal government.

Today Head Start turned 60. Most Democrats made some sort of post commemorating the day. Here are two of the posts I saw that I really appreciate.
Rep Frederica Wilson (FL-24)
Was actually a coordinator at Headstart back in the day, so this is pretty personal to her.

Rep Jahana Hayes (CT-05)
Reminded us why Headstart was created in the first place. It was all about lowering the poverty rate across the country. Unfortunately, we’re now in a really similar position. It puts it in a bit of a perspective for sure.

Sen Richard Blumenthal (CT)
And Sen Chris Murphy (CT) joined UAW Electric Boat Union for their final rally before they either go on strike or reach an agreement. We will know within a couple hours of this post going up.
You can watch Sen Blumenthal’s full speech below:

Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Dems, led by Sen Sheldon Whitehouse, held a People’s Hearing titled “Climate Risk, Crashing Markets: The Insurance Crisis, Threatening the US Economy“ on May 13.
Sen Adam Schiff (CA)
Of course brought up insurance when the safety of a home can no longer be guaranteed. I say of course because California is still reeling from the January fires.
There were also questions from Schiff’s CA Senate partner, Alex Padilla, New York’s Chuck Schumer, Oregon’s Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, and Massachusett’s Elizabeth Warren.
Remember, we’re not hearing about every People’s Hearing, unfortunately, our Dems are holding them in all sorts of Committees in the House and Senate multiple times a week.
Rep Eric Swalwell (CA-14)
Went LIVE showing exactly how tariffs are affecting places like Home Depot. And he would know because the LIVE literally took place at the store. I wanna see more of this, these real-world examples that our electeds show us in real-time.
So those are some of today’s fighters. Remember to comment on their posts.
If you made it to the end of this post comment 🚢 (liner) cause I hope the electric boat workers get a deal
And if you watched at least one of the videos comment with 🧰 (toolbox) cause I think doing a LIVE in Home Depot or any store is brilliant
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
🧰 watched and sending to sister who works at a home depot in OR.
