Today is Saturday, which means Congress isn’t in session and there is a focus on the district. I know you want to see the big stories, but the reality is, one of the most important things right now, is educating their constituents. And today was a day chock-full of that. Now it’s our job to make sure this noise goes viral, cause the MSM sure isn’t gonna help us with that.
Rep Robert Garcia (CA-42)
He held a call with 240 non-profits in and around his district two days ago on next steps to protect against the end of federal funds
Sen Elizabeth Warren (MA)
She posted a video explaining how DT getting rid of the Consumer Financial Protections Bureau will do nothing to help lower costs. Of course we all know it will do nothing, and that he doesn’t care, but not everyone does, and, the clearer it’s laid out, the better, and she does such a fantastic job!
Rep Mike Levin (CA-49)
He posted a video on DT’s decision to open up two CA dams that don’t connect to LA at all. He explained how that will negatively affect CA farmland and farmers, plus what he’s going to be doing to hold the admin accountable for this disaster. I know his timeline won’t make many people very happy, but you have to understand, if something in Congress is going to be done right, it’s not going to happen instantaneously. Stop listening to people who say we only have a few days or weeks before it’s the end of the world.
Rep Joe Neguse (CO-02)
He held several town halls yesterday with over 500 constituents in attendance total. Just the fact that he held so many is amazing, but the amount of people who showed up is amazing in its own right, and it sounds like this is just who he is. I love that so much!
Rep Raul Ruiz (CA-25)
He posted all about DT’s executive orders, but also explained, albeit vaguely, what he’s doing about it. We need so much more of this. It’s important to know what’s happening, especially because really having it laid out can change hearts and minds, but it’s also important to follow that bad news up with the actions against it, and I love that he did that.
Sen Tina Smith (MN)
She explains in a video how the federal worker purge is effecting Minnesotans and the state itself. One very powerful way she does so is by gives a specific example from a federal worker at the VA.
Sen Alex Padilla (CA)
He wrote a snarky letter to Hegseth demanding answers for what the fuck the Admin thinks it’s doing with opening CA dams. This isn’t a “I have concerns” letter, and we need to be seeing many more letters like this one.
This is nowhere near all the stories I could have posted today, but there are over 250 Dem members of Congress. There is always going to be so much that I miss.
The best way to make sure you see these stories is by following ALL members of congress, not just yours. It’s on us to lift up their voices, just as much as it is on them to do the work, make noise and fight back.
Your voice is your superpower, but only when you use it!
