Remember, our Dems don’t get attention for fighting if no one gives them attention for fighting. It’s our job to comment and share and like and spread what they are doing as much as possible.
And here are some of those people now!
Repping the Rep: Julia Brownley (CA-26)
Introduced 2 climate bills on Wednesday. HR3096 “To direct the Comptroller General of the United States to conduct a study on Federal agency use of renewable energy certificates.” Which basically means ordering a study on how much renewable energy the government is using. And HR3097 “To prohibit Federal agencies from purchasing or leasing new vehicles that are not zero-emission vehicles, and for other purposes.” That second one is interesting because given that Tesla qualifies at zero-emmision, it would be hard for them to say no to that.
If you remember that Brownley was the Rep for last week, you’r enot remembering wrong, I just barely covered her last week, so I figured she deserve a redo.
I don’t know if these bills will even pass out of the House, they likely won’t, but getting things on record is important and it’s a reminder of where out Dems stand on important issues.
DNC
Have a new Substack newsletter. This is about their newly announced, “Save Medicaid: May Month of Action,” which is focusing on getting four Republicans, Reps Tom Barrett (MI-07), Don Bacon (NE-02), Mike Lawler (NY-17) or Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), who I talked about yesterday, to vote against the budget. If you wanna be involved in this month of action, this is an important article to read.
Reps Raul Ruiz (CA-25), Teresa Leger-Fernandez (NM-03), Hakeem Jeffries (NY08) and Nanette Barragán (CA-44)
Began the Steering and Policy Commitee Dems town hall tour in Ken Calvert’s CA-41 district today.
It’s unclear if this whole tour will include all four of them, but, given what it’s called, I suspect, since Rep Barragán is the co-chair, she’ll be at all stops.
I love this a lot and I’m so happy Leader Jeffries was there as well.
And you can watch the whole town hall as well which Leader Jeffries live stremed

Reps April McClain Delaney (MD-06), John Larson (CT-01)
Are hosting a seniors workshop and panel discussion all about Social Security and Medicare on May 12. This is brilliant. What better way to get seniors to understand what’s going on then show them using their own situation.
Rep Mike Thompson (CA-04)
Posted a video speaking with his constituent who was stuck in Mexico and denied entry back into the US because of a “clerical error” I’m so glad he is making sure that her story is being told

Sen Richard Blumenthal (CT)
Joined his son, CT State Rep Matt Blumenthal at the Stamford Tesla Takedown. I’m not sure if it’s bring your father to work day or bring your son to work day in their case.

Rep Ted Lieu (CA-36)
Went to the Torrance CA Day of Action Rally and literally shook every single person’s hand who was at the protest, or, at least, everyone who wanted to shake his hand.
And finally…
Sen Elizabeth Warren (MA)
Has been fighting for something that will actually mitigate waste fraud and abuse. The army is officially allowing soldiers to fix their own equipment, and contractors can no longer block it to make more money.

As usual, those are just some of today’s fighters.
If you made it to the end of this post comment 🤝(handshake) Cuz, who does that??
And if you watched or read at least one of the posts, comment 🧑🧒 (grown up with child) cause the Blumenthals protesting together is adorable
