I’m so excited to say you’re gonna start seeing different names in this series. Because I’ve found a new tactic. Blue Sky starter packs are great, but there is a lot of text posted a day and the videos get lost, but on YouTube, that problem doesn’t exist. So there are people I’ve never highlighted before because I rarely see their posts that are now a lot more visible. And the best part? You can subscribe too!
It’s a playlist, because, that’s the only way I could do it. Don’t watch the videos, just click on each one and follow the account. I will be creating more, for Senate, committees and caucuses, but this is the one I have right now, and I didn’t want to wait to share it.
On that note, today’s fighters!

Repping the Rep: Mark Desaulnier (CA-10)
Did an interview with the Boston Globe. He may represent California, but he’s from Boston and that’s where he learned the importance of ethics. I’m just going to let the article speak for itself
Nearly 50 years before in the same room, a self-identified mafia informant testified to a Senate committee that Mark’s father, Edward DeSaulnier, a then-Superior Court judge and former Massachusetts state legislator, had accepted a bribe to arrange a lenient sentence in a fraud case. After subsequent investigations by the Globe’s Spotlight team exposing other misdeeds, the elder DeSaulnier was disbarred and resigned in disgrace.
It is no wonder this man is the co-chair of the House Ethics Committee.
This is also is an example of the power of local journalism, and thinking outside the box with it. No one would think of the Boston Globe as DeSaulnier’s local paper, but, since this isn’t as much about the district, and more about spotlighting all the Dems, if you want to support your Dem, or call our your Republican, get creative with it. Maybe you’ll have more luck in their birth state than their current district.
And this is the best possible story to end his week on. I will, of course, be spotlighting DeSaulnier often, but it just won’t be on a daily basis.
Stay tuned tomorrow for the next Repping the Rep, which starts tomorrow!
Rep Gregory Meeks (NY-05)
Is the ranking member on the Foreign Affairs committee and he has today’s Democratic Daily Download.
The episode is, of course, about SignalGate. And Meeks is directly involved in the Democratic response, as he says in the video. He’s leading other reps in filing a resolution, that, if passed, would force the DT admin to share any discussions in relation to the national security catastrophe.
I love how he clearly details that this isn’t just a call for Hegseth to resign or be fired, but also the direct action he and other Dems are taking in response.
Rep Don Beyer (VA-08)
Called the Social Security Office to see for himself how long the wait is. Turns out it’s indefinite, cause they end up hanging up on you. This is one of those videos that should go instantly viral, and, every Rep and Sen should be making the same video. Everyone needs to call their district’s Social Security office and record what happens.
Rep Val Hoyle (OR-04)
Spoke at the emergency AFGE press conference today, that became a rally, following DT’s EO to get rid of collective bargaining for government worker unions.
She spoke for about four minutes all about how the administration is terrified of unions because at this point in time, most Americans support unions and that undermines their ability to take over.
Americans, whether they’re unions members or not, trust unions and the AFL-CIO for the information they put forward, which is what makes unions so dangerous.
Rep Ayanna Presley (MA-07)
Also spoke about the illegal EO against unions today. To explain how serious this is, she used the example of a mortgage. The idea of the bank just change the terms without any say at all from the homeowner. I think this messaging could resonate with people who aren’t necessarily in a union but are homeowners. We need as much messaging as possible that explains the situation to as many people as possible.
Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08)
Is not someone I ever expected to put in this series, but, he did a really good thing yesterday. He spoke at the Vets for Change rally in IL for Hegseth to resign. Making statements on social media are great and do matter, but it’s so important to be out there at rallies and constituents as much as possible.
We cannot let this go for even a second and I’m so glad that Krishnamoorthi found yet another way to make his opinion heard.
I have no doubt he will not be the last elected Dem to rally against Hegseth in the coming weeks.
Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03)
Is the first member of congress to call for a general strike unprompted. She made this announcement as a result of DT’s union busting EO last night.
There are a lot of steps before one can actually happen. Starting with Hands Off 2025, cause we still need to build the muscle. And hopefully as more electeds get on board, unions will join the call as well. At that point it will go from being a theoretical to a practical action.
We’re not there yet, but we’re on our way.
And finally…
Sen Chris Van Hollen (MD)
Posted a video reminding us that we must lift up all the institutions that are not backing down at the same time as we call out the institutions that would rather give in. It can’t be one or the other.
And, if you follow me, you know that that’s how I feel about pretty much everything. Hopefully, this resonates with people, and more people start lifting up those who are doing the right thing and not just calling out those who aren’t.
I hope this was the reminder you needed today that yes, the Dems are doing the work. And this is not even a fraction of what I saw today.
If you made it to the end of this post comment 📳 cause the phones are ringing at Social Security, but no one is answering
