I really hope you don’t just wait for me to tell you what stories there are. I hope you’re looking for them yourself throughout the day. We have so many incredible fighters, and yet people are still saying that Dems are doing nothing.
And here are some of those fighters now!
Repping the Rep Jill Tokuda (HI-02)
Held a town hall last week. I was really moved by the amount of time she spent on what we need to do and encouraging her constituents to call their friends and family who have Republican representatives to have town halls and face their constituents.
Rep Joyce Beatty (OH-03)
Has today’s Democratic Daily Download. She reminds us that DT insists he wants America first but if that was actually the case, then he wouldn’t be pushing for this budget bill.
This is one way to explain to friends or family who voted for him, but aren’t part of his cult why they need to get involved now.

WI Reps Mark Pocan (WI-02) and Gwen Moore (WI-04)
Did an unannounced oversight visit to the single ICE prison in WI. We learned that ICE doesn’t have a single office in WI, so it is virtually impossible for anyone to get out of this prison whether they are innocent or not.
Rep Moore has a consituent in this facility and the sheriff fully agreed with Moore that her constituent is 100% innocent, but he can’t do anything about it.

Rep Chellie Pingree (ME-01)
Wrote an op-ed in the Portland Press Herald all about DT’s attack on culture and the role of the NEA in keeping culture alive in this country.
If you’re someone who’s thinking, I mean this is horrible that these grants are going away, but how is it really going to affect things, this article is for you.

Rep Dave Min (CA-47)
Joined canvassers to knock doors for Kirsten Walsh, who is running for Newport-Mesa Unified School District Trustee in Area 5, a seat she already won that Republicans refused to let her take her rightful place in. The election ends June 10.
There are a few members of Congress who focus on their local community like this, but I see Min doing it most consistently.

Rep Bobby Scott (VA-03)
Attended Portsmouth Pride yesterday. I really want everyone to see with their own eyes that our representatives are not abandoning the queer community.
And finally…
Rep Dan Goldman (NY-10)
Confronted, masked ICE agents last week and did a press conference telling us all about it.
I heard about this last week, but I’m really glad he posted about it again today.
You can watch the full press conference below!

So those are some of today’s fighters, I hope you found more on your own!
If you made it to the end of this post comment with 🎨 (a paint pallet) cause it’s on us to make sure we save our art and culture
And if you watched or read any of the posts comment with 📓(a notebook) let’s get Kirsten Walsh in the school district office where she belongs!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

🎨📓so hard when the only serious power we have is informing the folks and putting pressure on the republican’ts. I sent post cards to Collins and Murkowski - and there are others who might decide to trade momentary false promises from the RUMPUS for a budget that serves their constituents. The problem is getting the reality past the guards to the MAGA prisoners. Neighborhoods to neighbor… local letters to editors.. post on laundromat bulletin boards… show up in the streets with signs that tell truth rather than polarize more. June 14 NO KINGS DAY: Our flag, our country, our responsibility, and yes our tax $…
