I hope you had a good Saturday, I had a quasi day off, but it was nice nonetheless. Now it’s Sunday and this is the place to go, if you wanna know what our Dems are doing.
And given that it’s a new week, we have a new
Repping the Rep: Jimmy Panetta (CA-19)
Represents one of the bluest dots in California.
He did a press conference last week with healthcare workers to sound the alarm about the big ugly law.
I hope you enjoy learning more about him throughout the week.
You can watch the full press conference below.

Rep John Garamendi (CA-08)
Was on KGO News to talk about the big ugly bill and call out David Valadao, after saying he wouldn’t vote for the bill but doing it anyway. I really love how often Garamendi fights for constituents who aren’t his.
You can watch the full segment below, unfortunately KGO did not think it was important enough to put anywhere online.

Rep (CA-49)
Joined me on a LIVE last Thursday. In this clip he gives an example of how far Republicans have really fallen.
You can also watch the entire interview, which is pretty inside baseball about what’s next, but we need that kind of detailed these days.

Rep Rick Larsen (WA-02)
Is doing everything he can to help Rep Maxine Dexter (OR-03) track down her constituents, children, who are US citizens, who were kidnapped by ICE. I’m sure this kind of collaboration happens a lot, but they don’t often highlight it for us all to see.

Rep Hillary Scholten (MI-03)
Posted a myth vs fact one sheet all about the big ugly law. It’s both easy to understand and pretty detailed.

Rep Eric Sorenson (IL-17)
was on All In with Chris Hayes last week to discuss the horrific floods in Texas, and there’s no better person since he is the only meteorologist in Congress.
He said that there needs to be a safety board for weather and disaster, preparedness, something you probably already expected exists, but it doesn’t.
(VA-08)
Brought attention to Unite Here Local 23, some of whom work in food services at the Capitol. They are changing food vendors, and these workers have yet to be asked back, even though their existing contract is still in effect.
(MD-08) and (
) Glenn Ivey (MD-04) were also out supporting their rally.BlueSky | Instagram | Facebook | Threads
And finally…
Sen Elissa Slotkin (MI)
(CA) and Sen Cory Booker (NJ) introduced the VISIBLE (Visible Identification Standards for Immigration-Based Law Enforcement) Act of 2025, which would require ICE agents to identify themselves and to stop wearing masks to hide their identity.
I’ve seen people talking about Padilla and Booker, but not Slotkin. So, I wanted to make sure her name didn’t get left out of the conversation.
This is so important to me and I think one of the ways that people get convinced so few members are doing the work. Certain names get the recognition and the others don’t.
So, in order to not leave anyone out, these are the cosponsors so far: Sens Gary Peters (MI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Tammy Duckworth (IL), Mazie Hirono (HI), Patty Murray (WA), (CA), Tina Smith (MN), Chris Van Hollen (MD), (VT), and (OR).

So I hope this was the reminder you needed it today that the Dems are in fact doing the work.
If you made it to the end of the post comment with 🍴(a knife and fork) because we are rooting for the Capitol to not mess with union contracts!
And if you watched or read any of these stories comment with 👁️(and eye) cause ICE agents should always be identifiable!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
